Day 2: Skopje – Pristina – Prizren - Skopje
After breakfast, we leave our hotel and depart for Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. After our journey, upon arrival in Pristina, we begin our panoramic city tour where we will explore the modern and historical sides of Kosovo. During this tour, we will visit Germia Park, one of Pristina’s most important natural beauties. Then we will see the Kosovo Museum, which showcases Kosovo’s cultural heritage. During our tour, we will also visit many valuable structures from the Ottoman period. We will see the Fatih Sultan Mehmed Mosque and the 18th-century Yaşar Pasha Mosque. During this excursion through the city’s historical heritage, we will have the opportunity to commemorate this important historical event and its place in Ottoman history by visiting the Tomb of Sultan Murad I Hüdavendigâr, the Ottoman Sultan who was killed on the Kosovo Plain as a result of the Battle of Kosovo in 1389. After our tour in Pristina, we depart for Prizren, known as Kosovo’s cultural capital. Upon arrival, we begin exploring Prizren’s narrow streets, whose architecture resembles Anatolian Ottoman cities and whose shop signs are full of Turkish inscriptions. In the city, we will visit Sinan Pasha Mosque, one of the most important works of Ottoman architecture. In addition, the Halveti Lodge, Bayrakli Mosque, and Mehmet Pasha Bath are among the other important Ottoman monuments to be seen. After free time in Prizren, we begin our return journey to Skopje in the evening.
Dinner: An unforgettable dinner awaits you, accompanied by traditional Balkan music and local dance performances. While experiencing the fun and cultural side of Skopje with this special Balkan night, you will be hosted at Restaurant Gardenia, one of the region’s most select venues. With the best music and folklore of the Balkans presented live, and performances by our artists, all of whom are conservatory students and teachers, performed without playback, we will turn this night into an authentic experience. Passing through Elbasan, arrival in Tirana, rich in historical and cultural aspects. In this beautiful city, an impressive tour awaits us where we will explore Tirana, considered the center of Bektashism in Europe. Upon arrival in Tirana, we visit the Et'hem Bey Mosque, one of the city’s most important landmarks. Begun in 1789 and completed in 1923, this structure is one of Albania’s cultural heritages. We take a short break at Skanderbeg Square and see the Skanderbeg Statue standing proudly in the middle of the square. The Clock Tower, the symbol of Tirana, built by Et'hem Bey in 1821, is also one of the highlights of our tour. Then, we visit the meaningful Peace Bell made in 1999 by the children of Shkodër from bullets melted during the uprising. Afterwards, we arrive in Budva, one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Balkans. Our Budva city tour begins. On this walking tour, we will see Budva, one of the Balkans’ most famous holiday resorts, with its magnificent beaches and very colorful nightlife. Our next stop is the enchanting city of Kotor, famous for its fjords in the Balkans! Day 6: Medugorje – Počitelj – Blagaj – Mostar – Sarajevo
After breakfast, we head to Sarajevo. Our first stop is Počitelj, a place preserved with its historical texture and known as the Turkish Village, where we see the works built by the Ottomans in the 16th century. After the visit, Blagaj, built at the source of the Buna River, one of Europe’s strongest water sources. After a short free time in this magnificent natural setting, we set off for Mostar. In Mostar, we will see the Mostar Bridge, built in 1557 by Architect Hayreddin. This bridge, a masterpiece of Ottoman architecture, was destroyed by Croatian artillery in the war in 1992; however, with major contributions from the Republic of Turkey, it was reopened in 2004. After the Mostar Bridge, we will visit Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque. Then we depart for Sarajevo. Upon arrival, it has been the cultural capital of the Balkans for centuries and went down in history as the place where World War I broke out after Austro-Hungarian Crown Prince Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by the Serbs in 1914. In the 1992 war, it suffered great destruction due to the devastating wars between Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks, yet Sarajevo managed to largely preserve its beauty. Then, we head to one of the city’s most impressive points, where the Sava River meets the Danube River. In this unique view, it will be a great pleasure to explore this region, which has been the focus of conquest and victory many times throughout history. As we continue to explore this ancient city where Fatih Sultan Mehmed was wounded for its sake, yet its conquest was achieved by Suleiman the Magnificent, you will encounter Belgrade Fortress, used as a supply center for the Ottoman fleet. While tracing the footprints of history in this fortress, we will see important points such as the Fortress Square and Stone Square.
