Day 1 ISTANBUL – ZURICH – LUZERN– ZURICH
Meeting at the Turkish Airlines counter in the International Departure terminal of Istanbul Airport 3 hours before the flight. After baggage, ticket, and passport procedures, we will depart for Zurich on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1907 at 08:55. Arriving in Zurich at 10:10 local time, our panoramic Zurich city tour begins with our vehicle waiting at the airport. Located on the shores of Lake Zurich and at the foot of the Alps, Zurich hosts millions of tourists year-round with its historical past and culture. The city's name comes from Turus and dates back to the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. During the Roman occupation in the 2nd century A.D., it was named Turicum. When translated to Swiss German, it became "Zurich". According to recent data, Zurich, considered the most livable city in Europe, is also referred to as Switzerland's cultural capital. After visiting Grossmünster, Fraumünster Churches, and the largest clock tower in Europe, St. Peterskirche, we will tour Bahnhofstrasse, the city's shopping center. After our tour, we will proceed to Lucerne. To verify Alexandre Dumas's statement, "If Switzerland is an oyster, Lucerne is its pearl," visiting Lucerne is enough. Our first stop in Lucerne is the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), the oldest wooden bridge in Europe, built in 1333 on the River Reuss, showcasing much more than just Lucerne's history. One of its most notable features is the paintings hung from the ceiling that narrate Lucerne’s history. Our second stop is the Lion Monument, one of the most impressive points in the city. This statue, carved into a massive rock in honor of 800 Swiss soldiers who died while protecting King Louis, depicts a grieving lion. Mark Twain referred to it as, "the most moving and mournful piece of stone in the world," deeply affecting visitors. After the free time we will have, we will transfer to our hotel in Zurich.
Day 2 ZURICH- SCHAFFHAUSEN RHINE FALLS-FREIBURG- STRASBOURG
Our first stop is the Rhine Falls. With a width of 150 meters and a height of 23 meters, it is the largest waterfall in Europe. After a stunning walk around the falls, we proceed to Freiburg. Frequently named the most livable city in Germany, Freiburg is a charming town in southern Germany that is synonymous with green. Known as the capital of the Black Forest, it has become a role model for environmentalism today. During our city tour, we will visit Freiburg's Münster Cathedral, Markthalle (Covered Market), Münsterplatz (Main Square), Rathausplatz, Kaiser Joseph Street, Augustiner Platz, and Gerberau. After our tour, we will head to Strasbourg. Strasbourg, known for being the place where the French National Anthem "La Marseillaise" was written, is a city where Alsace culture meets French architecture. We will explore Notre-Dame de Strasbourg Cathedral, which held the title of the world's tallest structure until 1874, Rohan Palace, Kleber Square, and the traditional Alsace houses in the Petit France region. After our tour, we will transfer to our hotel in Strasbourg.
Day 3 STRASBOURG– KAYSERSBERG – EGUISHEIM – COLMAR - RIQUEWIHR – STRASBOURG
Our first stop today is Kaysersberg, known for its excellent vineyards and wine production. It was part of Germany for over 50 years. Among the highlights of our visit are the Renaissance-era wooden houses and Kaysersberg Castle. Our next stop is Eguisheim, one of the charming villages of Alsace. As you wander through the narrow, picturesque streets with colorful geraniums hanging from the wooden windows and balconies, you will start to lose yourself in tales from the past. Since 2003, Eguisheim has been a member of the “France's Most Beautiful Villages” club and was voted “Favorite Village of the French” in 2013. After our tour of Eguisheim, we will head to Colmar. With its colorful houses and flower-adorned streets, Colmar is one of the most beautiful cities, serving as the starting point of the Alsace wine route. The beauty of Colmar is enhanced by its canals, which are fed by the tributaries of the Rhine. The striking historical buildings dating back to the 1200s along the river are the city's most notable feature. While strolling through Colmar's carnival-like streets, we will visit the Saint Martin Cathedral, Rue Marchand (Merchant Street), and the Petite Venise (Little Venice) area. Our last stop on the tour is Riquewihr, famous as Alsace's most prominent village… With the harmony of its wooden and concrete houses, different colors, and distinct architecture, this charming town is visited by 2 million tourists a year. You will not get enough of photo opportunities in this wonderful town where history, culture, and nature blend. After our tour, we will transfer to our hotel in Strasbourg.
Day 4 STRASBOURG – OUTLET-HEIDELBERG – KARLSRUHE
Our first stop will be the renowned outlet located between the cities of Baden-Baden in Germany and Strasbourg in France, with nearly a hundred famous brands. After enjoying shopping in the outlet, our second stop will be the city of Heidelberg. No, not all German cities are alike. If you want to see a real German city, Heidelberg, where Hegel pondered and which Goethe described as an ideal city, will greet you with its harmony of architecture and nature. Upon arrival, we will make a city tour featuring Hauptstrasse, Marktplatz Square, Old Bridge, and Heidelberg Castle (from outside). After our tour, we will transfer to our hotel in Karlsruhe.
Day 5 KARLSRUHE - STUTTGART – ISTANBUL
After breakfast, we will check out of our rooms and head for the city tour of Stuttgart. Nestled in the Neckar Valley, Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg, was a significant political place where counts and later the kings of Württemberg lived for hundreds of years until the 19th century. This led to the abundance of government buildings, palaces, and museums in the city. Afterward, we will transfer to the airport, and after baggage and ticket procedures, we will depart for Istanbul on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1706 at 19:00. We will arrive in Istanbul at 00:05 local time.We hope to see you on our next trip.
