2nd Day: Baku Fire Temple - Absheron - Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center
At 03:05, we arrive in Baku and transfer to the hotel. Check into rooms. After breakfast, we will start our tour a little later to refresh. After breakfast, we have free time. We begin the day with a visit to the Fire Temple (Ateshgah), one of the three Zoroastrian temples that have survived to this day and the most important one. This structure resembling a fortress was first constructed in the 3rd century AD. It became famous for its burning flames and was rebuilt by Zoroastrian pilgrims who came to the region in the 17th century during the active period of the Silk Road. After our visit here, we go to Absheron Fire Mountain to watch the lively dance of the flames. Following this, we continue our tour with a visit to the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, designed by Iraqi-born English futurist architect Zaha Hadid, which spans 101,000 square meters and has made significant headlines worldwide. The complex represents the rise of the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijani myth and includes theaters, conference halls, museums, and art galleries. (IMPORTANT NOTE: The cultural center may not accept visitors on some days. Our company cannot be held responsible for this situation if it occurs on the day, as the times are not announced in advance. If it is open, we will enter; if not, we will see it from outside.) 3rd Day: Baku (Dinner with Azerbaijani Night)
After breakfast, we depart from our hotel for a Full Day Baku City Tour. The traditional and historical characteristics of Baku have recently been complemented by significant investments that have modernized its architecture and culture. During this comprehensive tour, you will see and learn about the most important areas of both New and Old Baku, starting with a visit to Martyrs' Lane which leads us to Highland Park. Here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and the Baku Bay and take plenty of photos. Then, we visit the Old City, also known as Ichari Shahar, which is on UNESCO's World Heritage List. In this part of our tour, you will see and learn about Baku's historical and traditional features. Among the sights here and in the nearby area are the Maiden Tower, built in the 12th century, the Friday Mosque from the 15th century, the historically significant Siniggala Minaret and Mohammed Mosque, the world's only Miniature Book Museum, the Shirvanshah Palace considered one of the jewels of Azerbaijani historical architecture, the Ismail Palace, which currently serves as the Academy of Sciences, the heart of the city, Independence Avenue, the Fountain Square named after a historic fountain, the Philharmonic Fountain, and the National Carpet and Rug Museum. Following this, we explore the modern face of the city and head to Baku Boulevard, known as "Little Venice," a pedestrian path parallel to the waterfront area where oil barons built their mansions a century ago. After the end of the tour, we go to a local venue for Dinner with Folkloric Show featuring Azerbaijani Night. After a beautiful evening with traditional Mugham music and local delicacies, we transfer back to our hotel. Accommodation in our hotel.
4th Day: Baku - Shamakhi - Gabala - Sheki
After breakfast and checking out of the rooms, we head towards Shamakhi. (approximately 125 km) Shamakhi, known from the Shamakhi Siege during the Ottoman-Safavid Wars, is also among the most important regions of the Caucasus known for viticulture and carpet weaving. We will see the old town center, Yeddi Gumbez Tomb located at the foot of Gulistan Castle, and the Friday Mosque. Next, we continue towards Gabala, known for its natural beauty (approximately 95 km). Accompanied by the stunning views of Nature Park, we will have free time by Nohur Lake, and Gabala, with its mountains, forests, and waterfalls, will recharge your energy. After our pleasant break, we will proceed to our final stop of the day, Sheki (approximately 90 km). Upon arrival, we explore Sheki, Azerbaijan's oldest, most authentic, and beautiful city. A classic mountain city, Sheki is known for its friendly people and unique culture and cuisine. We will visit the historic stone and wooden buildings spread across the narrow, cobblestone streets and some buildings such as the Upper and Lower Sheki Caravanserais, part of which is now a hotel, the breathtaking Han Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage member from the Persian period, Sheki Fortress comprising the Shirvanshah Palace, the Ethnography Museum, the Art Gallery, and Art House, as well as the significant religious structures, the Han and Friday Mosques. In our free time at the market, you can taste the famous Azeri Tea accompanied by Sheki Halva, and shop for numerous handmade art pieces, especially the world-renowned silk products. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and check into our rooms. Accommodation in our hotel.
5th Day: Sheki - Imamzadeh Complex - Ganja - Istanbul
After breakfast and checking out of the rooms, we set off for Ganja, a city that enchants visitors with its historical and natural beauties and is often referenced in Dede Korkut's tales. (approximately 145 km) Before arriving in Ganja, we will visit the Imamzadeh Complex. Surrounded by red bricks, the beautifully intricate architecture of the complex houses a mausoleum containing the grave of Hz. Muhammed's grandson Imam Muhammad al-Bakr, a mosque, and a caravanserai. After a short journey, we will start our tour in Ganja. Some sites will be explored on foot in this beautiful city that spans approximately 450 hectares. Among our visit sites are the oxygen depot of the city, Haydar Aliyev Park, the Bottle House dedicated to soldiers who couldn't return home during World War II, Ataturk Avenue, which is the heart of the city, the Philharmonic Hall that has hosted many important performances since its inception, the Friday Mosque built in the 17th century, and the Alexander Nevsky Church, constructed with contributions from both Christian and Muslim populations in accordance with Byzantine architecture.
