Day 2
ISTANBUL – CASABLANCA – MARRAKESH
Following baggage, ticketing, and boarding procedures, our scheduled Air Arabia flight to Casablanca begins. Upon arrival at Casablanca Airport, we transfer to Marrakesh with our private bus waiting for us at the airport. Upon arrival in Marrakesh, we depart for our full-day tour of the Red City, Marrakesh. Following our panoramic city tour, where we will see the Koutoubia Minaret and Jemaa el-Fna, Africa’s largest square, bustling with street performances, snake charmers, and open-air restaurants, bringing together all the colors of Africa, the Bahia Palace, decorated with tiles unique to the country, is among the places we will visit. Since the beginning of the 1900s, Marrakesh has been one of the favorite destinations of many European fashion designers, artists, musicians, and adventurers, particularly French ones. As it is an important hub for African trade, it contains all the colors of Africa. Once a city that influenced Islamic art and philosophy, it still maintains medieval lifestyle traditions in its medina. Afterwards, we will visit Jardin Majorelle, Yves Saint Laurent’s secret garden, one of the finest examples of Moroccan architecture. There will be unique plants that we will have the opportunity to see and photograph in the garden. After the tour, transfer to our hotel and free time. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel. In Tamegroute, pottery has been an art passed down from father to son for many years, and it is the only place producing green enamel inherited from the tradition of Fez. Declared a “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO, the city has been the setting for many productions, including Orson Welles’ Othello and the recently popular television series Game of Thrones, as well as being a fishing port and a coastal town where art and culture intertwine on the Atlantic coast. The city’s fortress, fishing port, and Medina, built in a style adapted from old Roman cities, are among the places to see. You can explore the city and enjoy pleasant shopping among its narrow, labyrinthine streets that you will never tire of exploring. Following our tour, transfer to Casablanca. Casablanca owes its fame to the famous film “Casablanca,” which hosted negotiations between the parties and intense espionage activities during World War II and is remembered with the phrase “Play it again, Sam.” Today, Casablanca is an industrial city with one of Africa’s and the country’s largest ports; Mohammed V Square, the Hassan II Mosque viewed panoramically, and the vibrant Corniche promenade are among the places we will see.
