Upon arrival at Milan Bergamo Airport at 14:25 local time, we depart for Milan city center to organize our city tour. Milan, one of Europe’s fashion capitals, stands out not only for its fashion but also for its cuisine, opera, and churches. Although known as Italy’s business and financial capital, Milan is also the right destination for shopping and dining experiences. During our city tour, the famous opera house La Scala, Piazza del Duomo and the Cathedral, and Porta Romano are among the main places to see. After the Milan city tour, we proceed to our hotel in the Nice region. Upon arrival at our hotel, room assignment and free time to rest.

After breakfast and hotel check-out, we head for an unforgettable and dreamlike train journey on the UNESCO World Heritage Bernina railway line aboard the Bernina Express / Red Train. Built between 1898 and 1904 and today listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this world-famous Bernina Train offers a fairy-tale journey that many travel enthusiasts dream of, during which we will witness and photograph extraordinary landscapes. After an enjoyable train ride of approximately 2 hours, we arrive at St. Moritz Station. Following a short free time and sightseeing in St. Moritz, Switzerland’s natural wonder and a favorite destination of the jet set, we continue by our waiting vehicle to the hotel in the Alsace/Basel region. ALSACE/BASEL – (Pearls of Alsace: Colmar & Riquewihr Tour) – STRASBOURG – FREIBURG – ALSACE/BASEL
After breakfast, we depart for Strasbourg. En route, guests who wish may join the optional Pearls of Alsace: Colmar & Riquewihr Tour (80 Euro). In this tour, we first visit Colmar, a fairytale town, where we will see the Old Customs House, Pfister House, and the most famous part of the city along the Rhine River with its colorful houses, Petite Venise (Little Venice). In this unique setting surrounded by the Rhine River and canals, you will have the opportunity to enjoy many delicious foods and buy souvenirs to suit your taste. Our next stop is Riquewihr, a charming town surrounded by vineyards in the Alsace region, famous for its flower-filled balconies, unique rows of shops, cobblestone streets where cars are not allowed, buildings that somehow survived World War II without damage, and quaint cafés; with its tower housing the Dolder Museum, which preserves the city’s story with documents, it resembles a Grimm fairy tale. After our visit to Riquewihr, we continue our journey to Strasbourg. Located on the borders of Germany, Switzerland, and France, and also the largest city in the Alsace region, Strasbourg welcomes us with the beauty of a painting, as if straight out of a fairy tale. Added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988 and hosting the European Parliament since 1992, Strasbourg’s vehicle-free center and streets will be explored on foot during our panoramic city tour, where we will see Gutenberg Square and its statue, Notre Dame Cathedral, the city’s most important landmark, and Kammerzell House, the oldest building in the city and still serving as a hotel and restaurant. After free time in Strasbourg, we continue to Freiburg, one of the best examples of green urbanism. In Freiburg, where only low-carbon vehicles have been allowed to enter since 2010 and transportation is mainly by tram and bicycle, we can see traces of the city’s historical and architectural influences from Germany, France, Austria, Spain, and Sweden. During our city tour in Freiburg, also known as the capital of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), we will see the city’s most important symbol, Freiburg Cathedral, the charming streets with small water channels unique only to Freiburg, Martin’s Gate from the Middle Ages, and Rathausplatz. Located in Switzerland and with German as its official language, Bern also reflects German cultural influence in its architecture. After our tour in Bern, we proceed to Gruyeres, our next stop. Selected as Switzerland’s most beautiful village in 2014 and the birthplace of the world-famous Gruyère cheese, Gruyères is a fairy-tale village that has preserved its medieval character, giving its name both to the region and its famous cheese, with flower-decorated houses and streets. Located on a hill at an altitude of 800 meters in the upper valley of the Saane River, this vehicle-free village is known not only for its cheese but also for Switzerland’s famous dish, fondue. After our sightseeing tour in Gruyères, we complete the tour and continue to Lausanne. Lausanne, which holds a very important place in our national history because it hosted the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne on July 24, 1923, is also one of the important bishoprics of the Middle Ages. With its medieval castles, D’Ouchy Castle, palaces, cathedrals, and museum buildings, Lausanne takes visitors deep into history, and its location on the shores of Lake Geneva increases its appeal. After a short sightseeing tour in Lausanne, we visit Montreux. Montreux, well known from our national history, is an important city not only for its castles, historic buildings, and natural beauty but also for the music world. The song “Smoke on the Water” recounts a casino fire in Montreux, and there is also a statue of Freddy Mercury, who spent the last period of his life working here. After our city tour in Montreux, we photograph the postcard-perfect view of Chillon Castle, which has become the symbol of Montreux, from a panoramic perspective. At the end of the tour, we head to Geneva. Known as the “French side of Switzerland,” Geneva, located on the shores of Lake Geneva, is a magnificent city where history, culture, science, and nature come together. The fact that the headquarters of international organizations such as CERN, the World Health Organization, UEFA, FIFA, and the United Nations are located in Geneva places the city in a central cultural and administrative position. During our sightseeing in Geneva, where museums, parks, historic monuments and streets, and fresh air come together, the main places to see are St. Pierre Cathedral, the Jet d’Eau fountain, which has become Geneva’s symbol and rises up to 140 meters, and the Reformation Wall.
