After completing the passport and customs procedures at the Turkish Airlines counter in the Istanbul Airport international departure terminal, we depart for Baku on Turkish Airlines flight TK332 at 06:45. We arrive in Baku at 10:30 local time. After arriving, we start our panoramic city tour with our vehicle waiting at the airport. We will see the Heydar Aliyev Center, which has become the symbol of Baku, panoramically. Then we take a short photo break at Flag Square and the Baku Boulevard, capturing this moment. After seeing the newly opened area called the Flame Towers, we proceed to our hotel. We check-in at the hotel and settle into our rooms. Guests who wish can join the optional Baku City Tour with Dinner. (80 USD) We will explore the Old City, Martyrs’ Alley (Street of Martyrs, Turkish Mosque, the mini square of the Soviet Union's Dual Hero, Major General Hazi Aslanov, Flame Towers, Eternal Flame, a viewing deck with stunning views) of Baku and the view of the Baku Bay, Baku Television Tower, and Little Venice. We will have a walking and bus tour, providing tourists with information regarding the surrounding objects starting at the walls of the Old City (the monument of the national poet Sabir, the statue of Nizami, and the establishment history). The program also includes visiting the Philharmonic Orchestra named after Muslim Magomayev and the City Duma building, the Venice-style house—the outer inspection of Ismaili. We will explore the famous Torgoviy Street, which resembles Istanbul's Istiklal Avenue. This area offers stunning views of the city via the Dagustu Park, and we conclude our day at a restaurant where we will have our set-menu dinner, where you can enjoy Azerbaijani cuisine. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, guests who wish can join the optional Qobustan – Mud Volcanoes – Haydar Aliyev Museum Tour with Lunch (80 USD). We set off towards Gobustan, about 65 km southwest of Baku, which is the richest area in Azerbaijan in terms of archaeological artifacts and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Gobustan is located near the Caspian Sea, along the ancient Shirvan road; it is also referred to as an open-air museum. This area provides significant insights into prehistoric and Middle Ages society, hunting, animals, and flora through rock carvings and petroglyphs. After visiting Gobustan, we will continue to the nearby Mud Volcanoes area, which is famous for having half of the more than 700 Mud Volcanoes in the world, especially the largest ones, where you will feel like you are among "Moon Craters".
After the guided explanations in the region, we observe live volcanic activities. After the Mud Volcanoes, we go to the local restaurant to have our lunch, and then we return to Baku to visit the Haydar Aliyev Cultural Center. This building, designed on the concept by the famous architect Zaha Hadid, represents the rise of the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijani mythology and was built in 3.5 years. The Haydar Aliyev Cultural Center, recognized as one of the most important structures in Azerbaijan, symbolizes the Azerbaijani society's future-oriented approach with its modern, extraordinary, and futuristic architecture. The center houses permanent and temporary exhibits, archaeological finds, ethnography sections, classical instruments, and personal belongings of Haydar Aliyev, as well as various equipment used during his time. During your visit, you will gain extensive knowledge about Azerbaijan's history from its past to the present. After the tour, we return to the hotel.
After breakfast, free time. Guests who wish can join the optional Atashgah, Yanardag & Baku Historic Villages Tour (90 USD). The Eternal Fire Temple, which various Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Sikhs revered at different times, is located at the slopes of the Surakhani village, 30 km away from central Baku (XVII-XVIII centuries). It was given the name "Atashgah" due to the burning natural gas outlets where "eternal" fires are burning. This place provides significant insights into prehistoric and Middle Ages society, hunting, animals, and flora through rock carvings and petroglyphs. After the tour, we will go to explore the historic villages of Baku, visiting the Ethnographic Qala museum, Mardakan fortress, and Ramana fortresses. After this tour, interested guests can join the optional Azerbaijani Night with Dinner and Music. (60 USD) We will transfer back to the hotel after the tour. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, check-out from the rooms and free time. Later, transfer to the airport at the time determined by our guide. After the baggage and ticket procedures, we depart for Istanbul on Turkish Airlines flight TK335 at 20:50. We arrive at 23:05 local time, concluding our tour.
