ISTANBUL – LJUBLJANA – TRIESTE – (Ferrara Tour) – FLORENCE We gather at Istanbul Airport’s International Terminal 3 hours before the flight and, after completing ticketing, baggage drop-off and passport procedures, we depart at 07:30 on Turkish Airlines’ direct scheduled flight TK1061 to Ljubljana. Upon arrival at Ljubljana Airport at 08:45 local time, we meet our private coach and head to Trieste. During our Trieste tour, Piazza Unita Building, San Giusto Basilica, Campo Square and especially Piazza Unita d’Italia, which is considered one of Italy’s most impressive squares due to its seaside location, elegant and serene grandeur, and the fact that it combines both Italian and Central European architecture, are among the main places to see. After our tour in Trieste, which is known as the birthplace of the world-famous Illy Coffee, as well as for having been one of the main ports of the Austro-Hungarian Empire for centuries and for the widespread distribution of coffee beans to Europe from here, we enjoy a short free time and then depart for our hotel in the Florence region. Cinque Terre consists of villages lined up one after another and connected by walking paths. It is located on Italy’s west coast with its colorful houses and unique local flavors. Due to its culture and historical features, it is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and is also protected as a national park. After free time in Cinque Terre, we continue our journey to Pisa. Upon arrival in Pisa, our tour includes the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral, the Baptistery and Miracoli Square. After a short free time for photos, transfer to our hotel in the Florence region and free time to rest. FLORENCE – (San Gimignano & Siena Tour) – ROME After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we set off for Rome. On the way, guests who wish may join the extra San Gimignano & Siena Tour (80 Euro). Our first stop on the tour will be San Gimignano. San Gimignano, which has preserved its medieval architecture and appearance to the present day and has earned a place on UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage List, is also known as the “Town of Beautiful Towers” thanks to the 14 architectural marvel towers that survived out of 76, despite wars and natural disasters. In the streets of San Gimignano, where time seems to have stood still and which give visitors the feeling of a journey back to the Middle Ages, and in its squares where each opens onto the town square, we enjoy a panoramic view of the 14 magnificent towers during our walking tour. We then reach Siena, the next destination on our tour. Siena is famous for its narrow streets and small avenues dating back to the Middle Ages, as well as Campo Square, considered one of the largest squares in Europe. After a pleasant walk in Siena through Campo Square and the historic narrow streets leading to it, we complete our tour and continue our journey to Rome. Upon arrival at our hotel in the Rome region, room assignment and free time for rest. ROME – (Rome Icons & Vatican and Local Neighborhoods Tour) After breakfast, we offer a full day at leisure. We take you on a historical journey through Rome and its icons, a city described as Urbs aput mundi, meaning “the city at the center of the world,” with its art, history, music, shopping, sunshine and cuisine, and its buildings in different styles from antiquity to the Renaissance. While the works created by architects competing with one another attract thousands of tourists to the city in every season, Rome carries these crowds without overwhelming the visitor, with all its beauty and elegance. On our tour, in Rome, the imperial city that has shaped European civilization and witnessed 23 centuries of history, we first see, from the outside and panoramically, the Colosseum, the symbol of the city and the ancient theatre that hosted gladiator fights during the Roman Empire; the Roman Forum, the ceremonial center of the city in imperial times; the Trevi Fountain, where, according to legend, those who toss a coin will return to Rome; the Spanish Steps, famous for street performers; Piazza Pietra; and Piazza Popolo. At the end of the Rome Icons Tour, we offer free time at the Pantheon. We then continue by seeing Castel Sant’Angelo, the Angel’s Castle, and Piazza Navona, and visit Vatican / San Pietro, the center of the Catholic branch of Christianity and the world’s smallest country by area. We offer free time at St. Peter’s Square, where thousands of Catholics come to worship every year and where, on special occasions, the Pope appears from his residence to greet the people, and where St. Peter’s Basilica, the world’s largest cathedral with 140 saint statues, is located. After our city tour and surroundings in Sorrento on the Amalfi coast, we offer free time for sea, sand and sun at the region’s most beautiful beaches in Sorrento. After this enjoyable free time, we complete our tour and return to our hotel in the Rome region. ROME – FLORENCE – VENICE After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we depart for Florence. Upon arrival in Florence, we begin our city tour. In Florence, the capital of the Renaissance and the hometown of Pinocchio, we first see from the outside the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, which immediately stands out with its orange dome and is the 4th largest church in Europe. One of the cathedral’s most striking features is the bronze door called the “Gate of Paradise,” on which scenes representing prophetic stories mentioned in the Qur’an are depicted. Then we see Giotto’s Bell Tower, once used to summon the people to parliament; Piazza della Signoria, which for centuries was the political and social center of Florence and where Michelangelo’s famous David statue is located; and the Old Bridge (Ponte Vecchio), famous for its antique and goldsmith shops. After the Florence city tour, we head to our hotel in the Venice region. Upon arrival at our hotel in Venice, room assignment and free time for rest. After the free time, we head to our Colorful Islands of Venice program. In this tour, where we have the chance to observe Venice from different angles by passing through the lagoons, we will see the islands of Lido and Murano from the sea and visit Burano Island, known as one of the 10 most colorful places in the world and famous for its lace as a fishing village. After the Colorful Islands program, we move to the canal area to carry out our Venetian Masterpieces program. Ljubljana, the capital and largest city of Slovenia, is culturally and architecturally very rich because it lies at the intersection of Alpine, Central European and Mediterranean cultures.
