We will give free time at this point where the world’s highest and largest Christ the Redeemer statue is located. This area attracts a high number of tourists, so we will need ample time for taking photos. We will make a 115 km road trip to the west of Santiago towards the Pacific Ocean coastline. Valparaiso, a city that was important to artists, bohemians, and romantics, housed the Nobel laureate poet Pablo Neruda and was a crucial place until the end of the 19th century. This was because it was an important port where ships coming from the Atlantic Ocean stopped to transition to the Pacific Ocean. Additionally, it was where copper extracted from Chile’s rich copper mines was dispatched. After the opening of the Panama Canal in 1914, the city lost its importance. However, today it is a beautiful city that tourists and young people wish to visit and live in. Valparaiso is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our next stop is to see the city of Viña Del Mar. We will have lunch at a local restaurant along the way, where we will have the opportunity to taste Chilean seafood. The city of Viña del Mar was the first place where vineyards were set up for grape production. However, due to the cold of the Pacific Ocean at night, vineyards were moved to more inland areas. Today, it hosts summer houses and casinos. After our visit to Viña del Mar, we will return to Santiago. If time permits, we may stop at vineyards in Vitacura or Casa Blanca valleys to visit the vineyards where Chilean wines are produced. We will also have the chance to taste these wines. We will arrive at our hotel in the evening. 8th DAY / SANTIAGO DE CHILE – BUENOS AIRES 06:50-08:50 After having breakfast at our hotel, we will transfer with our private vehicle to catch our flight to Buenos Aires. This building is still used as the presidential palace. Next, we will visit the city cathedral, which contains the tomb of San Martin, known as the liberator of Argentina, Chile, and Peru. After boarding our vehicle again, we will continue our tour to the famous neighborhood of La Boca, known as the most famous district in Buenos Aires. This area is where the world-renowned footballer Maradona was born and raised. It is also known as the first settlement for Italian immigrants coming to Argentina. You will have beautiful opportunities to see tango couples dancing in the streets, shop, or grab a bite to eat. After taking photos and spending some time here, we will visit the area known as La Boca, which gives its name to the river mouth of the Rio de La Plata. We will continue our city tour. We will pass through the Palermo district, which was inhabited by the world’s wealthiest during the 19th century. We will also visit and take photos of the metal flower, known as Floralis Genérica, one of Buenos Aires’ symbols, and then take a walking tour to see the Puerto Madero bridge and area. We will conclude our tour passing through the 9 July Avenue, where the Obelisk is located. We will return to our hotel for overnight stay in Buenos Aires. 10th DAY / URUGUAY – COLONIA TOUR Today, after breakfast at our hotel, we will brighten our day with a day trip to Uruguay, the neighboring country across the Rio de La Plata (Silver River) from Argentina. First, we will transfer from our hotel to the port. After completing our passport exit procedures, we will take a fast ferry for an hour to the Colonia port in Uruguay. Here we will see Sacramento, a city that has witnessed continuous attempts at establishment by the Spanish and Portuguese since the 16th century, thus being involved in many battles and conflicts. This place is a small and charming one. We will find shops where we can see a historical mix of Spanish and Portuguese architecture, as well as taste its famous cheeses and ice creams. After seeing the old church and square in the city center, we will go to a local restaurant to have lunch. After our meal, we will have free time for taking photos and shopping. After our tour, we will return to the port, and after completing our passport procedures, we will take the ferry back to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, we will be met by our tour bus and taken to our hotel. Overnight stay in Buenos Aires at our hotel. 11th DAY / BUENOS AIRES – TIGRE DELTA TOUR – ISTANBUL RETURN FLIGHT 23:50-22:30* Today, after having breakfast at our hotel, we will vacate our hotel with our luggage. We will set off on our Tigre delta tour. This area is located about 28 km north of Buenos Aires city center and takes approximately 45 minutes to reach. Before arriving at this location, we will make a stop in the San Isidro district for a visit to a church. Then, we will reach Tigre to make a one-hour boat tour in the delta. Tigre lies at the delta where the Parana river ends. People living in this area own small boats or canoes instead of cars. They do their shopping at floating markets where larger boats sell goods. It is known that the first settlers came to this area in 1920. The earliest settlers escaped the city's density after encountering jaguars in the forest, mistaking them for tigers, leading to this region being named Tigre. Tigre is still an important production area, as it was when it was first established. After our tour, we will return to Buenos Aires and transfer to the airport to catch our return flight. After completing our baggage and passport procedures, we will commence our journey back to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines’ scheduled direct flight. We spend the night on the plane. 12th DAY / ISTANBUL We will arrive in Istanbul around 22:30 local time. Our tour filled with memories comes to an end.
