Need to Know
GENERAL CONDITIONS
- General Conditions are an integral part of the tour program and cannot be considered separately from the tour program.
- If sufficient participation is not achieved for the tour, Wtatil may cancel the tour up to 21 days before the departure date. In such a case, the cancellation information is communicated to the guest. The full tour fee will be refunded to the guest. Regarding refunds of additional services purchased outside the tour; the domestic connecting flight purchased from Wtatil will also be refunded to the guest. If visa service and travel health insurance were used by applying for a visa on behalf of the guest, these services cannot be refunded as they will be considered used; if a visa application was not made, the visa and travel health insurance will also be canceled and the fees refunded. If the guest purchased the domestic connecting flight from a different product provider independently of Wtatil, the guest cannot claim any refund from Wtatil in the event that the tour is canceled by Wtatil. The guest accepts in advance any material and moral losses that may arise due to the cancellation of the tour, and Wtatil cannot be held responsible.
- If sufficient participation is not achieved for the tour, Wtatil has the right, in good faith, not to cancel the tour. In this case, since the tour will be provided individually for the guest, the included guidance service will only cover the overseas arrival and departure transfers.
Cancellation and Changes
- Our guests have the right to cancel without penalty up to 30 days before the tour departure date, provided that they notify Wtatil in writing, excluding flight tickets paid to and/or committed to the airline by Wtatil. If there are 31 days or fewer left until the start of the trip, they may cancel by paying a penalty equal to 50% of the remaining tour price after the flight ticket cost is deducted. If there are 15 days or fewer left until the start of the trip, they may cancel by paying a penalty equal to the full tour price. If a cancellation is requested, the refund conditions for additional services such as domestic connections, visa service, and travel health insurance may vary depending on the cancellation period, so it is necessary to request prior information regarding their refund status. Wtatil cannot make any commitment regarding refunds for additional services.
Guiding Services and Optional Tours
- The days and times of the tours specified in the program may be changed by the guide depending on the opening/closing status of museums and historical sites at the destinations and weather conditions. Different guides may accompany guests during the tours.
- Panoramic city tours included in the tour package are tours organized for the general introduction of the cities, conducted panoramically from the vehicle with guide commentary, lasting at most 2-3 hours and not including museum or historical site entrance fees. If panoramic tours, including the other tours specified in the program, cannot be carried out on the relevant day and time due to restrictions imposed by local authorities, closed roads due to any event, or if weather conditions make the tour impossible, Wtatil is not responsible for the inability to conduct such tours. Some tours may be carried out by public transportation or on foot where roads are closed or vehicle access is not permitted.
- Our guide may change the days of the city tour and/or additional tours depending on the content of our tours, the number of participants, and whether museums and historical sites are closed. This also applies in cases of changes in flight times.
- Important points to consider on tours conducted by speed boats: heavy meals should not be eaten immediately before boarding and excessive amounts of water should not be consumed. Guests with stomach, back, or neck complaints, and pregnant guests, must inform their guide.
- If the tour or meal services specified under the included services are not used, no refund will be made.
About Flights
- Wtatil acts as an intermediary between the airline and the passenger, and in possible disputes, the relevant provisions of Turkish law as well as the Hague Protocol and Warsaw Convention shall apply.
- Delays or flight time changes may occur on scheduled and charter flights. Wtatil is obliged to inform you of these changes as soon as possible. The passenger has purchased the trip accepting the risk of flight time changes/cancellations.
- Children aged 0-2 pay only the airport tax.
- In accordance with airline rules, if the outbound flight of a round-trip ticket is not used, the return flight will be canceled by the airline.
- For passengers joining air-inclusive tours, check-in and boarding procedures are personal responsibilities and must be completed by the guest before the flight, at the airport with the relevant airline counters or online via the airlines’ websites.
- Last-minute delays and gate changes that may occur on flights are announced verbally at airports and shown on information boards. Guests must follow this information themselves.
- Wtatil is not responsible if guests who do not arrive at the specified airport at the times announced in accordance with airline rules, or who do not complete check-in and boarding procedures on time, or who complete them on time but do not board the aircraft, are unable to take the flight. Guests who miss their flight will be responsible for all expenses related to obtaining new round-trip tickets and transfers in the destination area, etc., in order to join the tour.
- The general baggage allowance for flights departing from Turkey is 20 kg. This may vary depending on the airline and destination country. If there are domestic flights in the destination country, the baggage allowance on these domestic flights may drop to 15 kg. Excess baggage weight/fee rules are determined by the airlines and are not the responsibility of Wtatil.
- Guests wishing to upgrade their flight tickets with miles (to business or first class) may do so after ticket issuance, subject to availability by the airline (please check your membership airline). No mileage guarantee is given for every flight. Please check whether the program tickets are in an upgradeable class.
- On some airlines, food and beverage services and online check-in may be subject to additional charges.
Other Matters
- Wtatil will not accept responsibility for any changes or cancellations made by the guest by contacting the hotel directly. In such cases, Wtatil’s cancellation conditions shall apply.
- Where hotels are not specified by name in the tour program and only category information is given and/or alternative hotels are offered for the same destination, the guest will be informed by Wtatil 48 hours before departure.
- During special periods such as fairs, congresses, concerts, events, sports tournaments, etc., hotels may be located farther than the specified locations or distances. In such a case, Wtatil will provide information 15 days before the departure date of the tour.
- During registration for the purchased tour, the guest must enter/declare the name as it appears in the passport, date of birth, and passport number correctly in the system. Airline tickets are issued based on this information. The penalty for ticket cancellation or changes resulting from incorrect information will be charged to the guests.
- To use your mobile phone abroad, before leaving Turkey, please check with your mobile service provider whether your phone is enabled for international use.
- Hotel check-in time is 15:00 and check-out time is 12:00.
- Requests related to the room (high floor, close to common areas, smoking/non-smoking, bed type) are communicated by Wtatil to the hotel. Efforts are made to ensure that the allocated rooms match the guests’ preferences according to the hotel’s availability. Fulfillment of these requests depends on availability at check-in and cannot be guaranteed by Wtatil.
- Breakfast served at hotels differs from the rich breakfast commonly known in Turkish cuisine. It is generally served as a continental breakfast, consisting of limited options such as butter, jam, bread, tea, or coffee, and for groups it may be served in a separate hall allocated to the group.
- In some cases, a double bed may be provided instead of twin beds. Most European hotels offer rooms with two beds that can be joined if necessary.
- Child and extra bed policies may vary according to each hotel and room type.
- Any extra bed or baby cot is provided upon request and subject to hotel availability, and must be approved by the hotel.
- The capacity for an extra bed or baby cot in the room is 1 unit maximum.
- In 3-person rooms, an extra bed arrangement applies; in such rooms, the bed allocated to the 3rd person is smaller than standard beds. 3-person rooms consist of 1 large bed + 1 extra bed. Extra beds are folding beds or coach beds. Our guests are deemed to have accepted the possible cramped conditions in rooms and the bed type resulting from the extra bed added to standard rooms in 3-person and/or child-inclusive reservations.
- If the number and ages of children staying with adults specified in hotel reservations are incorrectly declared by the guest, the relevant hotels may charge an additional fee. In such a case, responsibility belongs to the guest who made the incorrect declaration. The hotel may request identification to verify the age of children.
- In reservations for 2 adults + 1 child, there may not be a separate bed for the child. Child prices are valid only if the child stays with two adults. Child discounts apply only to one child in the relevant age group staying with two adults.
- Daily exchange rate changes are reflected in TL prices. The rates at the time of payment apply. Additional requests and some extra hotel services you may receive at the hotel (minibar, ironing, etc.) are subject to extra charges by the hotel. These costs are not included in the purchase price and are paid directly to the hotel during your stay.
- Some countries have different practices regarding city, tourism, or local taxes. Any such city, tourism, or other taxes in effect are collected by the hotel from the guest upon entry or exit.
- Distances given in the programs are based on maps. Travel times may be longer due to traffic, weather conditions, the geographical location of the destination country, roadworks, and similar circumstances.
- Wtatil may, in mandatory or necessary cases, change the order of the cities in the program and the main airline to be used, without altering the content of the program.
- The personal belongings, bags, suitcases, passports/IDs of participants in the tour are their own responsibility, and Wtatil is not responsible for forgotten/lost/stolen items. If forgotten items are found, the costs incurred in delivering them to the country and/or person belong to the owner of the item.
- Participants in the tour are required to carry their travel health insurance policies and any medicines and medical reports related to any health issues they may have.
- For possible extra expenses, the hotel may request a photo ID/passport issued by official authorities and a credit card or cash deposit at check-in. The refund of any deposit requested at check-out is a transaction between the hotel and the guest, and Wtatil has no involvement.
Visa and Passport
- There is no visa requirement for Turkish citizens.
- Passports of our guests must be valid for at least 6 months from the end date of the trip.
- In order for entry/exit stamps to be placed in your passport at customs/border crossings, your passport must have at least 2 blank pages.
- Being exempt from a visa for entry into the countries in this tour does not mean that you are guaranteed entry/exit; the passport police have the authority to refuse you entry to or exit from the country, and Wtatil is not responsible for this; responsibility lies with the passenger.
- Guests who are not Turkish citizens or who will participate in the tour using the passport of another country due to dual citizenship must personally consult the relevant consulates regarding the visa procedures applied by the country to be visited to the passport they will use; otherwise, Wtatil will not be responsible for any resulting consequences.
- Passports that are torn, worn, wet, and/or damaged in similar ways must be renewed in order to avoid problems with customs police at the border gate of the country to be visited. Otherwise, responsibility belongs to the passenger.
- Since border police officers may request a document showing the mutual consent of both parents when guests under 18 travel alone or with only one of their parents during entry/exit to/from a country, we recommend that our guests under 18 and their parents pay special attention to this matter.
