ISTANBUL – LJUBLJANA – TRIESTE – FERRARA – (Pisa Tour) – FLORENCE
We will be at Istanbul Airport International Departures Terminal 3 hours before the flight to complete ticketing, baggage drop-off, and passport procedures, after which we will fly to Ljubljana on Turkish Airlines flight TK1061, a direct scheduled service, departing at 07:30. Upon arrival at Ljubljana Airport at 08:45 local time, we will meet our private coach and depart for Trieste. During our Trieste tour, Piazza Unita Building, San Giusto Basilica, Campo Square, and especially Piazza Unita d’Italia, which is considered one of Italy’s most impressive squares thanks to its seaside location, elegant and calm magnificence, and the fact that it combines both Italian and Central European architecture, will be among the main places to see. Trieste, known worldwide as the birthplace of Illy Coffee because it was for centuries one of the main ports of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and a major gateway through which coffee beans spread to Europe, will be followed by a short free time and then we will head to Ferrara. After our panoramic Ferrara city tour, where we will see on the one side Renaissance-style areas and architectural structures and on the other side old brick houses, churches, monasteries, and the historic Este Castle, which bear traces of the Middle Ages, we will continue to our hotel in the Florence region. En route, guests who wish may join the optional Pisa Tour (50 Euro). Upon arrival in Pisa, we will visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral, the Baptistery, and Miracle Square among the places to see. After a short free time for photos, we will arrive at our hotel in the Florence region. Room assignment and free time to rest. FLORENCE – (San Gimignano & Siena Tour) – ROME After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we depart for Rome. En route, guests who wish may join the optional San Gimignano & Siena Tour (80 Euro). Our first stop will be San Gimignano. San Gimignano has earned a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List because it has preserved its medieval architecture and appearance to this day, and is also known as the “Town of Beautiful Towers” thanks to the 14 architectural marvel towers that survived out of 76 after wars and natural disasters. We will take a walking tour through San Gimignano’s narrow streets that seem to open onto the town square, where time appears to have stood still and visitors feel as if they have traveled back to the Middle Ages, and where we can see the 14 magnificent towers panoramically. We then continue to Siena, the next stop on our tour. Siena is famous for its narrow medieval streets, small avenues, and Campo Square, considered one of the largest squares in Europe. In Siena, we will enjoy a pleasant walk through Campo Square and the historic narrow streets leading to it, after which we continue our journey to Rome. Upon arrival at our hotel in the Rome region, room assignment and free time to rest. ROME – (Rome Icons & Vatican and Local Neighborhoods Tour) After breakfast, we offer a full day at leisure. Guests who wish may join the optional Rome Icons & Vatican and Local Neighborhoods Tour (95 Euro). We take you on a historical journey through Rome and its icons, a city described as Urbs aput mundi, meaning “the city at the center of the world,” where art, history, music, shopping, sunshine, and cuisine meet, and where buildings in different styles from antiquity to the Renaissance line the city. While works created by competing architects attract thousands of tourists to the city in every season, Rome carries even these crowds without overwhelming one, with all its beauty and elegance. On our tour, in the imperial city of Rome, which shaped European civilization and bears witness to 23 centuries of history, we will first see the Colosseum, which became the symbol of the city and hosted gladiatorial combats during the Roman Empire; the Roman Forum, the ceremonial center of the city during imperial times; the Trevi Fountain, where it is believed that those who throw a coin in will return to Rome; the Spanish Steps, famous for street performers; and Piazza Pietra and Piazza Popolo panoramically. At the end of the Rome Icons Tour, we offer free time at the Pantheon. We then proceed by seeing Castel Sant’Angelo and Navona Square, and visit the Vatican / San Pietro, the center of the Catholic denomination of Christianity and the world’s smallest country by area. We offer free time in St. Peter’s Square (Piazza San Pietro), where thousands of Catholics come for worship each year and gather, and where, on special occasions, the Pope comes out from his residence to greet the public, and where the San Pietro Cathedral, the world’s largest cathedral with 140 saints’ statues, is located. After the free time, we begin our Rome Local Neighborhoods tour. In this tour, where we mingle with the people of Rome and feel like locals ourselves, we will experience the real Italian atmosphere in Trastevere, Piazza Trilussa, Ponte Sisto, and the Ghetto district, with its naturalness and simplicity as well as its cafes, small family restaurants, boutiques, greengrocers, butchers, and many other small and charming shops, and the Antique Tiber Island, connected to the city by two bridges, will be seen panoramically. After our walk through the maze-like narrow back streets lined with small tables, we return to our hotel in the Rome region. ROME – (Amalfi Pearl Sorrento Tour) – ROME After breakfast, we offer a full day at leisure. During this free time, guests who wish may join the optional full-day Amalfi Pearl Sorrento Tour (95 Euro). In Sorrento, located on the Amalfi Coast, famous for its small tourist boutiques, breathtaking beaches, stunning views, and Limoncello, the Italian lemon liqueur, we will enjoy a city tour and surroundings visit in a place whose history dates back to prehistoric times and which enchants its visitors by combining the Italian character and charm with a Mediterranean style. After free time for sea, sand, and sun on Sorrento’s beautiful beaches, we complete the tour and return to our hotel in the Rome region. ROME – FLORENCE – VENICE After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we depart for Florence. Upon arrival in Florence, we begin our city tour. In Florence, the capital of the Renaissance and the hometown of Pinocchio, we will first see from the outside the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, which immediately draws attention with its orange-colored dome and is the 4th largest church in Europe. One of the cathedral’s most notable features is the bronze doors known as the “Gates of Paradise,” depicting prophetic stories mentioned in parts of the Quran as well. We then see Giotto’s Bell Tower, once used to summon the people to parliament, Signoria Square, which was the political and social center of Florence for centuries and also houses Michelangelo’s famous Statue of David, and the Old Bridge (Ponte Vecchio), famous for its antique and jewelry shops. After the Florence city tour, we head to our hotel in the Venice region. Upon arrival at our hotel in the Venice region, room assignment and free time to rest. VENICE – (Venice Masterpieces & Boat Tour to the Colorful Islands and Outlet Tour) After breakfast, during the full day of free time offered, guests who wish may join the optional Venice Masterpieces & Boat Tour to the Colorful Islands and Outlet Tour (135 Euro – Vaporetto transportation fees included). Our tour begins with free time for affordable and quality shopping at an outlet center home to world-famous brand stores, cafes and restaurants, and recreational areas. After the free time, we depart for our Venice Colorful Islands program. During this tour, where we will have the chance to observe the Venice island from different angles by passing through the lagoons, we will see Lido and Murano islands from the sea and visit Burano Island, a fishing village known as one of the world’s 10 most colorful places and famous for its lace. Following the Colorful Islands program, we move to the canal district to carry out our Venice Masterpieces program. In this part of our Venice tour, we will see iconic works such as St. Mark’s Square, whose columns were brought from Istanbul, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, designed and used as a symbol of magnificence and power, the Clock Tower, the Bridge of Sighs, and the historic Campanile Bell Tower, and then enjoy a pleasant walking tour through the streets of Venice connected by bridges and stretching along narrow canals. After the Venice Masterpieces tour, we complete our program, return to our hotel in the Venice region, and offer free time to rest. VENICE – (Ljubljana & Bled Lake Tour) – LJUBLJANA – ISTANBUL After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we depart for Ljubljana Airport for our return flight to Istanbul. En route, guests who wish may join the optional Ljubljana and Bled Lake Tour (65 Euro). We first take our Ljubljana city tour. Ljubljana, the capital and largest city of Slovenia, is also at the crossroads of Alpine, Central European, and Mediterranean cultures, making it rich in cultural and architectural terms. During our tour in Ljubljana, we will see Vodnik Square, Ljubljana Castle, St. Nicholas Cathedral, the Dragon Bridge, the Old Square, the Historic Fountain, and the Town Square. After a short free time, we head to Bled. We enjoy a peaceful sightseeing tour in Bled, famous for its emerald-green lake with an island in the middle, its church on the island, and the Bled Castle on the high hilltops, after which we continue our journey to Ljubljana Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, we complete baggage drop-off, ticketing, and passport control procedures, after which we fly to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines flight TK1064, a direct scheduled service, departing at 20:15. Arrival at Istanbul Airport at 23:40 local time, and end of our tour.
