FLORENCE – (San Gimignano & Siena Tour) – ROME After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we depart for Rome. On the way, guests who wish may join the optional San Gimignano & Siena Tour (80 Euro). Our first stop is San Gimignano. San Gimignano, which has preserved its medieval architecture and appearance to the present day and has earned a place on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, is also known as the “Town of Beautiful Towers” thanks to 14 architectural marvels that remain standing after wars and natural disasters out of 76 original towers. In San Gimignano, where time seems to have stopped and visitors feel as though they are traveling back to the Middle Ages, we will enjoy a walking tour through its narrow streets opening onto the town square and panoramic views of the 14 magnificent towers. Our next stop is Siena. Siena is famous for its narrow medieval streets, small avenues, and Campo Square, which is regarded as one of the largest squares in Europe. After a pleasant walk through Campo Square and the historic narrow streets leading to it, we complete our tour and continue to Rome. Upon arrival at our hotel in the Rome region, room assignment and free time to rest. ROME – (Rome Icons & Vatican and Local Neighborhoods Tour) After breakfast, we offer a full day at leisure. Guests who wish may join the optional Rome Icons & Vatican and Local Neighborhoods Tour (95 Euro). We take you on a historical journey through Rome and its icons, a city described as Urbs aput mundi, meaning “the city at the center of the world,” where art, history, music, shopping, sunshine, and cuisine meet, and where buildings in various styles from antiquity to the Renaissance line the city. While the works created by rival architects attract thousands of tourists to the city in every season, Rome carries these crowds without overwhelming its charm and beauty. During our tour, we first visit the Colosseum, which became the symbol of the city and hosted gladiator fights during the Roman Empire, the Roman Forum, the ceremonial center of the city in imperial times, the Trevi Fountain, where legend says those who throw a coin in will return to Rome, the Spanish Steps, famous for street performers, and panoramic views of Piazza Pietra and Piazza del Popolo. After the Rome Icons Tour, we provide free time at the Pantheon. We then see Castel Sant’Angelo, the Angels’ Castle, and Navona Square, and visit Vatican City / St. Peter’s, the center of the Catholic branch of Christianity and the smallest country in the world by area. We offer free time at St. Peter’s Square, where thousands of Catholics come each year to worship and gather, and where, on special occasions, the Pope comes out to greet the people from his office. In the square stands St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest cathedral in the world with 140 statues of saints. After the free time, we begin our Roman Local Neighborhoods tour. In this tour, where we mingle with the people of Rome and feel like locals ourselves, we experience the real Italian atmosphere with its cafés, small family restaurants, boutiques, greengrocers, butcher shops, and many other small and charming stores, along with the authenticity and simplicity of Trastevere, Piazza Trilussa, Ponte Sisto, and the Ghetto district, as well as the ancient Tiber Island connected to the city by two bridges. After a walking tour through its labyrinth-like backstreets lined with small tables, we complete the tour and return to our hotel in the Rome region. ROME – (Amalfi Pearl Sorrento Tour) – ROME After breakfast, we offer a full day at leisure. During this free time, guests who wish may join the optional full-day Amalfi Pearl Sorrento Tour (95 Euro). Sorrento, whose history dates back to prehistoric times and which fascinates visitors by combining Italian character and charm with a Mediterranean style, is famous for its small tourist boutiques, breathtaking beaches, stunning views, and Limoncello, the Italian lemon liqueur. After our city tour and surroundings tour in Sorrento, located on the Amalfi Coast, we offer free time for sea, sand, and sun on some of the region’s most beautiful beaches. After this enjoyable free time, we complete the tour and return to our hotel in the Rome region. ROME – FLORENCE – VENICE After breakfast and hotel check-out, we depart for Florence. Upon arrival in Florence, we begin our city tour. In Florence, the capital of the Renaissance and the birthplace of Pinocchio, we first view from outside the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, which immediately attracts attention with its orange-colored dome and is the fourth largest church in Europe. One of the cathedral’s most striking features is its bronze doors, known as the “Gates of Paradise,” depicting scenes from the stories of prophets, some of which are also mentioned in the Holy Quran. We then see Giotto’s Bell Tower, once used to summon the people to parliament, Piazza della Signoria, which was for centuries the political and social center of Florence and home to Michelangelo’s famous David statue, and Ponte Vecchio, the Old Bridge, famous for its antique and jewelry shops.
