ISTANBUL – BOLOGNA – (Siena Tour) – ROME We arrive at Sabiha Gökçen Airport’s International Terminal 3 hours before the flight to complete ticketing, baggage drop, and passport procedures, then depart on Pegasus Airlines scheduled flight PC1217 at 12:40 to Bologna. Upon arrival in Bologna at 14:20 local time, we meet our private bus and head to our hotel in the Rome region where we will stay. En route, guests who wish may join the optional Siena Tour (50 Euro). Siena is famous for its narrow streets dating back to the Middle Ages, its small lanes, and Campo Square, considered one of the largest squares in Europe. After our pleasant walk through Campo Square and the historic narrow streets leading to it, we continue our journey to the hotel in the Rome region. Upon arrival at the hotel, room assignment and free time to rest. ROME – (Rome Icons & Nemi Strawberry Village Tour) – (Vatican and Rome Local Neighborhoods Tour) After breakfast, we offer a full day at leisure. Guests who wish may join the optional Rome Icons & Nemi Strawberry Village Tour (85 Euro). Our first stop is Nemi. Known for its mountain strawberries and therefore called the “Strawberry Village,” Nemi hosts an annual strawberry festival. After our sightseeing walk in Nemi, where narrow streets open onto squares and the enchanting lake and valley views blend with the scent of strawberries in the air, we take you on a historical journey through Rome and its icons, a city described as Urbs caput mundi, or “the city at the center of the world,” offering art, history, music, shopping, sunshine, and cuisine, with buildings in various styles stretching from antiquity to the Renaissance. While masterpieces created by competing architects attract thousands of tourists in every season, Rome manages to welcome even the crowds without overwhelming them, with all its beauty and elegance. On our tour, in the imperial city of Rome, which has shaped European civilization and witnessed 23 centuries of history, we will first see the Colosseum, the city’s symbol and the ancient theater that hosted gladiator fights during the Roman Empire, then the Roman Forum, the ceremonial center of the city in imperial times, the Trevi Fountain, where it is believed that anyone who throws a coin into it will return to Rome, the Spanish Steps famous for street performers, Piazza Pietra, and Piazza del Popolo as panoramic highlights. At the end of the tour, we offer free time in Rome city center at the Pantheon. During this free time, guests who wish may join the optional Vatican and Rome Local Neighborhoods Tour (65 Euro). Our tour begins with a view of Castel Sant’Angelo and Piazza Navona, after which we visit the Vatican/San Pietro, the center of the Catholic branch of Christianity and the smallest country in the world by area. We offer free time at St. Peter’s Square, where thousands of Catholics gather for worship every year and where, on special occasions, the Pope appears from his residence to greet the public, and where St. Peter’s Basilica, the world’s largest cathedral with 140 statues of saints, is located. After the free time, we begin our Rome Local Neighborhoods tour. In this tour, where we mingle with the people of Rome and feel like residents of the city ourselves, we experience the real Italian atmosphere in Trastevere, with its authenticity and simplicity as well as its cafes, small family-run restaurants, boutiques, greengrocers, butchers, and many other small and charming shops. Piazza Trilussa, Ponte Sisto, the Ghetto district, and the ancient Tiber Island, connected to the city by two bridges, are among the panoramic highlights. After our walk through the labyrinth-like back streets lined with small tables, we return to our hotel in the Rome region. Upon arrival in Naples, our tour includes Castel Nuovo, Palazzo Reale di Napoli, Galleria Umberto, Teatro di San Carlo, Via Toledo, Piazza del Plebiscito, and Basilica Reale Pontificia San Francesco da Paola. After free time in Naples, guests who wish may join the optional Lunch Included Pompeii Tour (80 Euro). We begin with lunch at a local restaurant, then visit Pompeii, located at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, which erupted in 79 A.D. and destroyed the city. After long excavations carried out by archaeologists starting in 1748, the city was revealed in all its vitality. We complete the tour with a visit to the ancient city of Pompeii. Sorrento, whose history dates back to prehistoric times, fascinates visitors by combining Italian character and charm with a Mediterranean style. After our city tour and sightseeing in Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast, we offer free time. After the tour, we return to our hotel in the Rome region. ROME – (San Gimignano Tour) – (Florence Masterpieces and Pisa Tour) – FLORENCE After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we head to our hotel in the Florence region. San Gimignano, which has preserved its medieval architecture and appearance to the present day, is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is also known as the “Town of Beautiful Towers” thanks to 14 architectural marvels that survived from 76 towers despite wars and natural disasters. After our sightseeing walk through San Gimignano’s narrow streets and squares, where time seems to have stopped and visitors feel transported back to the Middle Ages, and where the 14 majestic towers can be seen panoramically, we continue our journey to our hotel in the Florence region. En route, guests who wish may join the optional Florence Masterpieces and Pisa Tour (95 Euro). First, in Florence, the capital of the Renaissance and the hometown of Pinocchio, we will see the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral from the outside, immediately recognizable by its orange dome and the fourth largest church in Europe. One of the cathedral’s most remarkable features is the bronze door known as the “Gates of Paradise,” on which scenes representing prophetic stories mentioned in the Quran are also depicted. We then see Giotto’s Bell Tower, once used to summon the people to Parliament, Piazza della Signoria, which was the political and social center of Florence for centuries and also houses Michelangelo’s famous David statue, and the Old Bridge (Ponte Vecchio), famous for its antique and jewelry shops. We complete the tour with a sightseeing walk and visit in one of the five villages that give Cinque Terre its name, then continue our journey to Milan. After our Portofino visit, we continue to Milan. Upon arrival at our hotel in the Milan region, room assignment and free time to rest. MILAN – (Milan Masterpieces and Como Tour) – (Lugano Tour) – (Outlet Tour) After breakfast, we offer free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Milan Masterpieces and Como Tour (95 Euro). Our first stop is Milan. Known as one of Europe’s fashion capitals, Milan also stands out for its cuisine, opera, and churches. Although recognized as Italy’s business and financial capital, it is also the right destination for shopping and dining experiences. During our tour in Milan, we will see the famous opera house La Scala, Duomo Square and Cathedral, and Porta Romano. At the end of the Milan Masterpieces Tour, we arrive in Como. Here, we visit Lake Como, famous for hosting the summer homes of Hollywood stars, European elites, and the world jet set, and we enjoy a photo stop accompanied by the lake’s unique scenery. After free time in Como, guests who wish may join the optional Lugano (Switzerland) Tour (45 Euro), arranged only for guests participating in the Milan Masterpieces and Como Tour. MILAN – (Verona Tour) – VENICE – (Venice Masterpieces and Colorful Islands by Boat Tour) After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, we depart for our hotel in the Venice region. Verona, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to Italy’s second-largest amphitheater after the Colosseum and to the house associated with Shakespeare’s famous play Romeo and Juliet, which tells the world’s most famous love story. After our panoramic sightseeing walk through Via Mazzini (the main street) and Erbe Square, lined with many shops, cafes, and stores, and with a view of Verona Cathedral, we complete the tour and continue our journey to the hotel in the Venice region. En route, guests who wish may join the optional Venice Masterpieces and Colorful Islands by Boat Tour (125 Euro – Vaporetto transport fees included). In the first part of our tour in Venice, we will see major iconic structures such as St. Mark’s Square, built of stone and marble with columns brought from Istanbul, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace designed and used as a symbol of magnificence and power, the Clock Tower, the Bridge of Sighs, and the historic Campanile Bell Tower. We then enjoy a pleasant walk through Venice’s streets, connected by bridges and stretching along narrow canals. In the continuation of our tour, we organize our Colorful Islands program. On this tour, where we have the chance to observe the Venice island from different angles by crossing the lagoons, we see Lido and Murano from the sea and visit Burano Island, known as one of the 10 most colorful places in the world and famous as a fishing village for its lacework. VENICE – BOLOGNA – ISTANBUL After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, at the time indicated by our guide, we depart for Bologna Airport for our flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival at the airport, after completing baggage drop, ticketing, and passport control procedures, we board Pegasus Airlines scheduled flight PC1218 at 15:25 to Istanbul. Arrival at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport at 18:55 Istanbul time and the end of our tour.
