ISTANBUL – BOLOGNA – (Siena Tour) – ROME We arrive at Sabiha Gökçen Airport’s International Terminal 3 hours before the flight and complete ticketing, baggage drop, and passport procedures before flying to Bologna on Pegasus Airlines scheduled flight PC1217 at 12:40. Upon arrival in Bologna at 14:20 local time, we depart by private coach to our hotel in the Rome region where we will be staying. En route, guests who wish may join the optional Siena Tour (50 Euro). Siena is famous for its narrow medieval streets, small lanes, and Campo Square, regarded as one of the largest squares in Europe. After our pleasant walk through Campo Square and the historic narrow streets leading to it, we continue our journey to the hotel in the Rome region. Upon arrival at the hotel, check-in and free time to rest. ROME – (Rome Icons & Nemi Strawberry Village Tour) – (Vatican and Rome Local Districts Tour) After breakfast, we offer a full day at leisure. Known for its wild strawberries and called the “Strawberry Village,” Nemi hosts an annual strawberry festival. After a sightseeing walk in Nemi, where narrow streets open onto squares and the enchanting lake and valley views blend with the scent of strawberries in the air, we continue on a historical journey through Rome and its icons, the city once called Urbs caput mundi, “the center of the world,” and home to art, history, music, shopping, sunshine, and cuisine. With buildings in different styles ranging from antiquity to the Renaissance, Rome offers a journey through history. While architects’ masterpieces attract thousands of tourists in every season, the city’s beauty and elegance allow it to carry even large crowds without feeling overwhelming. During our tour, we will panoramically see the Colosseum, the symbol of the city and the ancient theater that hosted gladiator fights during the Roman Empire, the Roman Forum, which was the ceremonial center of the imperial city, the Trevi Fountain, where legend says those who toss in a coin will return to Rome, the Spanish Steps, famous for street performers, Piazza Pietra, and Piazza Popolo. Starting with Castel Sant’Angelo and Piazza Navona, we visit Vatican City / San Pietro, the center of the Catholic Church and the world’s smallest country by area. We offer free time at St. Peter’s Square, home to St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest cathedral in the world with 140 saints’ statues, where thousands of Catholics gather for worship each year and where, on special occasions, the Pope greets the public from his residence. After the free time, we begin our Rome local districts tour. In this tour, where we mingle with the people of Rome and feel like one of the city’s residents, we will panoramically see Trastevere, Piazza Trilussa, Ponte Sisto, and the Ghetto area, as well as the ancient Tiber Island, connected to the city by two bridges. Thanks to the long excavations completed by archaeologists in 1748, the city has been brought back to life in all its vividness. We complete the tour with a visit to the ancient city of Pompeii. Sorrento, whose history dates back to prehistoric times, captivates visitors by combining Italian character and charm with Mediterranean style. Famous for its small tourist boutiques, stunning beaches, breathtaking views, and the Italian lemon liqueur Limoncello, we enjoy a city tour and sightseeing in Sorrento on the Amalfi Coast, followed by free time. ROME – (San Gimignano Tour) – (Florence Masterpieces and Pisa Tour) – FLORENCE After breakfast and check-out, we depart for our hotel in the Florence region. San Gimignano, which has preserved its medieval architecture and appearance to this day, has earned its place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is also known as the “Town of Beautiful Towers” thanks to the 14 architectural marvels that survived from the original 76 towers after wars and natural disasters. In San Gimignano, with its narrow streets opening onto the town square and its 14 magnificent towers visible from the panoramic squares, we enjoy a sightseeing walk that feels like a journey back to the Middle Ages before continuing to our hotel in the Florence region. Although recognized as Italy’s business and financial capital, it is also an excellent destination for shopping and dining. During our tour, we see the famous opera house La Scala, Duomo Square and Cathedral, and Porta Romano. After the Milan Masterpieces Tour, we arrive in Como. Here we visit Lake Como, famous for its luxurious villas owned by Hollywood celebrities, European aristocrats, and the global jet set, and enjoy a photo stop with the lake’s unique scenery.
