Day 1: ISTANBUL – ZURICH – LUCERNE – ZURICH
Meet at the Turkish Airlines counter in the Istanbul Airport International Departure terminal 3 hours before your flight. After completion of baggage, ticket, and passport checks, we depart for Zurich at 08:40 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1907. Arriving in Zurich at 09:40 local time, we begin our panoramic city tour of Zurich with our coach waiting at the airport. Nestled by Lake Zurich and at the foot of the Alps, Zurich hosts millions of tourists throughout the year due to its rich history and culture. The city's name dates back to the Neolithic and Bronze Ages, deriving from "Turus." Under Roman occupation in the 2nd century A.D., it was named Turicum, which translates to "Zurich" in Swiss German. According to recent data, Zurich is known as the most livable city in Europe and is also referred to as the cultural capital of Switzerland. Upon arrival, we will see the Grossmünster, Fraumünster Churches, and the largest clock tower in Europe, St. Peterskirche. Then we tour Bahnhofstrasse, the city’s main shopping street. After our tour, we head to Lucerne. To validate the saying by Alexandre Dumas, "If Switzerland is an oyster, Lucerne is the pearl inside," visiting Lucerne is sufficient. Our first stop in Lucerne is Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), the oldest wooden bridge in Europe, built in 1333, located over the Reuss River, which reveals much more than just the history of Lucerne. One of the key features that make the bridge special are the paintings telling the history of Lucerne that are suspended from the ceiling. Our second stop is the Lion Monument, one of the most impressive spots in the city. This sculpture was carved into a massive rock in honor of 800 Swiss soldiers who lost their lives defending King Louis. Mark Twain described it as "the most moving piece of stone in the world." After our free time, we will transfer to our hotel in Zurich.
Day 2: ZURICH - SCHAFFHAUSEN RHINE FALLS - FREIBURG - STRASBOURG
Our first stop of the tour is the Rhine Falls. With a width of 150 meters and a height of 23 meters, it is the largest waterfall in Europe. After enjoying the mesmerizing sound of the water during our walk around the falls, we proceed to Freiburg. Freiburg is repeatedly selected as the most livable city in Germany and is known for its green spaces. Known as the capital of the Black Forest, this city has become a role model in environmentalism today. During our city tour, we will visit Freiburger Münster (Cathedral), Markthalle (Covered Market), Münsterplatz (Large Square), Rathausplatz, Kaiser Joseph Street, Augustiner Platz, Adelhauser Platz, and Gerberau. After our tour, we will head to Strasbourg. Strasbourg, having historical significance as the place where the French National Anthem "La Marseillaise" was written, is a city where Alsace culture blends with French architecture. We will explore the Notre-Dame de Strasbourg Cathedral, which held the title of the world's tallest building until 1874, Rohan Palace, Kleber Square, and the Petit France area adorned with traditional Alsace houses. After our tour, we will transfer to our hotel in Strasbourg.
Day 3: STRASBOURG - KAYSERSBERG - EGUISHEIM - COLMAR - RIQUIEWIRH - STRASBOURG
Our first stop of the tour is Kaysersberg, renowned for its vineyards and wine production, which belonged to Germany for over 50 years. We will see Renaissance-era wooden houses and explore Kaysersberg Castle. Our next stop is Eguisheim, one of the charming villages in Alsace. Wandering through its narrow streets lined with houses adorned with colorful geraniums, you will begin to lose yourself in tales of the past. For more than a decade, Eguisheim has been a member of the "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France" (The Most Beautiful Villages of France) club and was voted France's favorite village in 2013. After our tour of Eguisheim, we proceed to Colmar. With its colorful houses, flower-adorned streets, and stunning architecture, Colmar is one of the most remarkable cities, marking the starting point of the Alsace wine route. The canals enhance Colmar's charm, fed by the tributaries of the Rhine River. The historic buildings lining the riverbank, dating back to the 1200s, are the city’s most notable features. During our tour of Colmar, we will visit the Saint Martin Cathedral, Rue Marchand (Merchant Street), and the area known as "Petite Venise" (Little Venice). Our last stop on this tour is Riquewihr, known as the most famous village in Alsace. The harmonious blend of half-timbered houses and strong architectural diversity creates a charming town visited by two million people a year. You will be unable to resist taking photos in this wonderful town that blends history, culture, and nature. After our tour, we will transfer to our hotel in Strasbourg.
Day 4: STRASBOURG – HEIDELBERG – METZINGEN (OUTLET) – STUTTGART
Our first stop will be the city of Heidelberg. Not all German towns are alike. If you want to see a true German city, Heidelberg will impress you with its architectural harmony and natural beauty, the city where Hegel wandered deep in thought and Goethe called "the ideal city." Upon arrival, we will begin our tour visiting Hauptstrasse, Marktplatz Square, the Old Bridge, and Heidelberg Castle (externally). Our second stop is at one of Germany’s largest outlets in Metzingen. After our shopping, we will transfer to our hotel in Stuttgart.
Day 5: STUTTGART – ISTANBUL
After breakfast and checking out of the rooms, we depart for a panoramic city tour of Stuttgart. Stuttgart, located in the Neckar Valley, is the capital of the Baden-Württemberg region and has been an important political center for centuries, housing counts and later the kings of Württemberg. This has resulted in a city filled with government buildings, palaces, and museums. Following our city tour, we will transfer to the airport for our flight. After completing baggage and ticket checks, we depart for Istanbul at 14:40 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1704. We arrive in Istanbul at 19:40 local time. With our arrival, our tour concludes. We hope to see you on our next trip.
