One-day trip to Cumalıkızık, Gölyazı, Mudanya, Trilye
Cumalıkızık Gölyazı Mudanya Trilye OUR VEHICLE DEPARTURE POINTS 07:40 - Mutlukent Sultan Pastanesi Front 07:50 - Gebze Center Front TOUR ITINERARY Starting from the designated meeting points, we utilize the Eskihisar-Topcular Ferry to cross to Yalova and head towards our first stop, Cumalıkızık Village. In the village, where preservation and renovation works are ongoing, we will visit a total of 270 houses and the Ethnography Museum. We will tour the Convent House, Art House, Shepherd’s House, and the Ethnography Museum in Cumalıkızık Village, and attempt to pass through the narrowest part of the world, the Cin Alley. After exploring Cumalıkızık, we begin our journey towards Gölyazı. As we advance between olive trees towards Gölyazı, we are greeted by a restored windmill. First, we will climb to Zambak Hill, where ancient theater ruins are located. Overlooking the magnificent views of Gölyazı and Uluabat Lake, we will receive information about the region and take photos, then continue our sightseeing. We will visit important and unique examples of Anatolian Greek Orthodox Churches, including the Panteleimon Church and the Lake Written Word House. By walking through the village square, we will see the Crying Plane Tree and listen to its story from our guide. Then, we will cross the bridge to the peninsula. We will visit the restored and now cafe-functioning historical Gölyazı Bath and Mosque, the walls of the old fortress from which fish caught from Uluabat Lake are sold for over a hundred years, the Faik Bey Mansion, and the 250-year-old Greek houses, with explanations from our guide. We will then relax with a tea break in the square. After completing the Gölyazı Village and Uluabat Lake tour, we head towards our next stop, Mudanya, where we will have a lunch break (Fish/Kofta-Salad-Beverage-Fried Tahini Halva-Tea. The meal is optional and extra charge). From there, we will go to Mudanya’s Fish Restaurant for lunch. After dining, with our guide, we will visit the Mudanya Armistice House Museum, where the Mudanya Truce was signed, and the Mudanya Houses in Giritli Neighborhood (Mudanya Greek Neighborhood), planned by Italian engineer Piciretu. Then, we depart for our final destination, Trilye, which is about 30 minutes away. Trilye, an old Greek settlement, will be our sightseeing stop where we will visit Fatih Mosque and Taş Mektep, formerly a school built as a priest school and serving as a school until the 1980s. Our last shopping stop will be for Trilye Olives, considered one of the best table olives produced in our country. We then begin our journey back to Istanbul. Estimated arrival in Kocaeli varies from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM depending on the road and weather conditions. We bid farewell, hoping to meet you again on the next DGN Travel organization.
