1. Day Istanbul – Zurich – Rhine Falls – Lucerne – Zurich Meeting 3 hours before the flight at the Turkish Airlines counter in the international departures terminal of Istanbul Airport. After baggage, ticket, and passport procedures, we depart for Zurich at 08:40 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1907. Upon arrival at 09:45 local time, our city tour of Zurich begins with our vehicle waiting for us at the airport. With its historic center, striking Gothic-style churches, and historic buildings, it welcomes millions of visitors every year. After seeing Grossmünster and Fraumünster Churches and St. Peterskirche Church, which has Europe’s largest clock tower, we tour Bahnhofstrasse, considered the city’s shopping center. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Those who wish may join the extra excursion to the Magnificent Rhine Falls & Lucerne tour. (80 Euro) Our first stop on this tour is the natural wonder Rhine Falls, which holds the title of Europe’s largest waterfall with its 150-meter width and 23-meter height. This place, embraced by the powerful currents of the Rhine River, is a paradise where you will find peace while watching the dance of the crystal-blue waters. After a mesmerizing walk with the power of the water and the impressive scenery, we head to Lucerne, a historic city located in central Switzerland at the foothills of the Alps. In this enchanting city, after seeing the Lion Monument, built in memory of the 800 Swiss soldiers who were martyred while protecting King Louis XVI and his family, Chapel Bridge, and the magnificent view of Lake Lucerne, we end our tour and transfer to our hotel. Overnight in Zurich or nearby hotel. 2. Day Zurich – Basel – Mulhouse After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Basel. Upon arrival, our city tour begins. Basel, the third most populous city in Switzerland after Zurich and Geneva, is a magnificent city that combines both modern and historical textures and, although small in area, contains many treasures. During our city tour, the Basel Cathedral, where the grave of the famous Renaissance writer Erasmus of Rotterdam is located, Marktplatz, the Government Building, and Hotel Les Trois Rois are among the places to be seen. After the tour, those who wish may join the extra excursion to the Fairytale Villages of Alsace (Riquewihr, Kaysersberg & Colmar & Eguisheim). (100 Euro) Our first stop on this tour is Riquewihr, one of Alsace’s most enchanting towns, with numerous half-timbered houses that give the town its charm. This historic village captivates visitors with its old houses decorated with colorful flowers, narrow streets, and medieval atmosphere surrounded by walls. On our tour, we will also see the ruins of Riquewihr Castle and walk along the old walls of the village to feel the medieval ambiance. Then we move on to Kaysersberg. Kaysersberg is a medieval town in France and a charming part of the Alsace region. It is famous for its colorful houses, narrow streets, and historical character. In particular, the 13th-century Château de Kaysersberg Castle is one of the town’s most distinctive landmarks. Sainte-Croix Church in the city center also stands out with its Gothic architecture. After the tour, we head to Colmar, famous for its historic buildings dating back to the Middle Ages, Gothic-style churches, and colorful houses. As we stroll through Colmar’s remarkably well-preserved streets, we will see St. Martin’s Cathedral, built entirely from pink stones; Little Venice, which with its small canals resembles Venice in Italy; Maison Pfister, one of Colmar’s oldest houses; and Maison des Têtes, a Renaissance building decorated with faces. After the tour, our last stop is Eguisheim, a place where we will want to take photos at every turn. Awarded the title of “Favorite French Village” in 2013, Eguisheim is a village where history and nature dance together. Its colorful houses reflecting the typical architecture of the Alsace region create Eguisheim’s postcard-like appearance. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight in Mulhouse or nearby hotel. 3. Day Mulhouse – Bern – Geneva After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Bern. Bern, the capital of Switzerland, offers visitors a captivating atmosphere with its UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic city center, streets preserving their medieval character, stone buildings, arcades, and fountains. During our tour, the Clock Tower, the Old Town, described as Europe’s largest covered shopping area, Einstein’s House, the History Museum, the Parliament Building, and the square will be seen panoramically. After the tour, we head to Geneva. Geneva, one of Switzerland’s most cosmopolitan cities, is located in the west of the country on the shores of Lake Geneva and is very close to the French border. The city, of great importance in international diplomacy, hosts the European headquarters of the United Nations, the Red Cross, and many international organizations. During our city tour here, Lake Geneva, Mont Blanc Bridge, the Great Cathedral, the United Nations and Red Cross buildings, Notre Dame, and the old town will be among the places to be seen. After the tour, those who wish may join the extra excursion to Lausanne – Ouchy – Montreux and Chillon Castle Tour. (80 Euro) Our first stop on this tour is Lausanne, located on the shores of Lake Geneva and of historical importance for our country. Lausanne Cathedral, the historic center of the city, the Old Town (Vieille Ville), and Flon, a modern shopping and entertainment district, are among the places we will see. Then we head to Ouchy. Once a fishing village, Ouchy has been incorporated into the city of Lausanne since the mid-19th century due to its role as the harbor on Lake Geneva. In this peaceful and beautiful area famous for its lake views, the externally impressive Ouchy Castle (Château d’Ouchy) and Ouchy Harbor will be among the sights. Our final stop on the tour will be Montreux, another peaceful spot on Lake Geneva. In this town, famous for its relaxing and serene atmosphere, mountain views, and lakeside walking paths, we will see Chillon Castle (from the outside), the statue of Freddie Mercury, lead singer of the band Queen, and Montreux Harbor. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight in Geneva or nearby hotel. 4. Day Geneva – Istanbul After breakfast, check out of the rooms and transfer to the airport at the time specified by our guide. After baggage, ticket, and passport procedures, depart for Istanbul on Turkish Airlines flight TK1920 at 18:25. Arrival in Istanbul at 23:45 local time, and the end of the tour.
