1st Day Istanbul – Zurich – Rhine Falls – Lucerne – Zurich Istanbul Airport, international departures terminal, in front of the Turkish Airlines counter, meet 3 hours before the flight. After baggage, ticket, and passport procedures, we depart for Zurich on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1907 at 08:40. Upon arrival at 09:45 local time, our city tour of Zurich begins with our vehicle waiting for us at the airport. With its historic center, striking Gothic-style churches, and historic buildings, it welcomes millions of visitors every year. After seeing Grossmünster and Fraumünster Churches and St. Peter’s Church, which has Europe’s largest clock face, we tour Bahnhofstrasse, considered the city’s shopping center. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Then, guests who wish may join the optional Magnificent Rhine Falls & Lucerne tour. (80 Euro) Our first stop on the tour is the natural wonder Rhine Falls, which holds the title of Europe’s largest waterfall with its 150-meter width and 23-meter height. This place, embraced by the powerful branches of the Rhine River, is a paradise where you will find peace while watching the dance of crystal blue waters. After a fascinating walk accompanied by the power of the water and the impressive scenery, we head to Lucerne, a historic city in the middle of Switzerland at the foothills of the Alps. In this enchanting city, after seeing the Lion Monument, built in memory of the 800 Swiss soldiers who were martyred while protecting King Louis XVI and his family, the Chapel Bridge, and the magnificent view of Lake Lucerne, we end our tour and transfer to our hotel. Overnight in Zurich or hotels in the surrounding area. 2nd Day Zurich – Basel – Mulhouse After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Basel. Upon arrival, our city tour begins. Basel, Switzerland’s third most populous city after Zurich and Geneva, is a magnificent city that combines both modern and historic textures and, although small in area, contains many treasures. During our city tour, the Basel Cathedral, where the tomb of the famous Renaissance writer Erasmus of Rotterdam is located, Marktplatz, the Government Building, and Hotel Les Trois Rois are among the places to be seen. After the tour, guests who wish may join the optional Magnificent Alsace Fairy-Tale Villages tour (Riquewihr, Kaysersberg & Colmar & Eguisheim). (100 Euro) Our first stop on the tour is Riquewihr, one of Alsace’s most charming towns, with many half-timbered houses that give the town its appeal. This historic village enchants visitors with its old houses decorated with colorful flowers, narrow streets, and medieval atmosphere surrounded by walls. On our tour, we will also see the remains of Riquewihr Castle and feel the medieval atmosphere while walking along the village’s old walls. Then we proceed to Kaysersberg. Kaysersberg is a charming part of the Alsace region as a French town dating back to the Middle Ages. It is famous for its colorful houses, narrow streets, and historic atmosphere. In particular, the 13th-century Château de Kaysersberg is one of the town’s most prominent landmarks. Sainte-Croix Church in the center of town also stands out with its Gothic architecture. After the tour, we head to Colmar, famous for its historic buildings from the Middle Ages, Gothic-style churches, and colorful houses. While walking through Colmar’s well-preserved streets, we will see St. Martin’s Cathedral, built entirely of pink stone, Little Venice, which resembles Italy’s Venice with its small canals, Maison Pfister, one of Colmar’s oldest houses, and Maison des Tetes, a Renaissance building decorated with faces. Our next stop after the tour is Eguisheim, a place we will want to photograph from every angle. Awarded the title of “Favorite French Village” in 2013, Eguisheim is a village where history and nature dance together. Its colorful houses reflecting the typical architecture of the Alsace region create Eguisheim’s postcard-perfect appearance. After the tour, transfer to our hotel in Mulhouse or the surrounding area. Overnight in Mulhouse or nearby hotels. 3rd Day Mulhouse – Bern – Geneva After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Bern. Bern, the capital of Switzerland, offers visitors a captivating atmosphere with its historic city center on the UNESCO World Heritage List, medieval streets, stone buildings, arcades, and fountains. During our tour, the Clock Tower, the Old City, described as Europe’s largest covered shopping area, Einstein’s House, the Historical Museum, the Parliament building, and the square will be seen panoramically. After the tour, we depart for Geneva. Geneva, one of Switzerland’s most cosmopolitan cities, is located in the west of the country on the shores of Lake Geneva and is very close to the French border. A city of great importance in international diplomacy, it is home to the United Nations Office in Europe, the Red Cross, and many international organizations. During our city tour here, Lake Geneva, Mont Blanc Bridge, the Cathedral, the United Nations and Red Cross buildings, Notre Dame, and the old town are among the places to be seen. After the tour, guests who wish may join the optional Magnificent Lausanne – Ouchy – Montreux and Chillon Castle Tour. (80 Euro) Our first stop is Lausanne, located on the shores of Lake Geneva and of historical importance for our country. Lausanne Cathedral, the historic center of the city, Old Town (Vielle Ville), and Flon, a modern shopping and entertainment district, are among the places we will see. Then we head to Ouchy. Formerly a fishing village, Ouchy was incorporated into Lausanne in the mid-19th century due to its role as a port on Lake Geneva. In this peaceful and beautiful area known for its lake views, we will see the enchanting Château d’Ouchy from the outside and Ouchy Harbor. Our final stop on the tour will be Montreux, another peaceful destination on the shores of Lake Geneva. Famous for its relaxing and serene atmosphere, mountain views, and lakeside walking paths, we will see Chillon Castle (from outside), the statue of Freddy Mercury, lead singer of the Queen music group, and Montreux Harbor. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight in Geneva or nearby hotels. 4th Day Geneva – Istanbul After breakfast, after checking out of the rooms and at the time indicated by our guide, transfer to the airport. After baggage, ticket, and passport procedures, depart for Istanbul on Turkish Airlines flight TK1920 at 18:25. Arrival in Istanbul at 23:45 local time, and end of the tour.
