Upon arrival in Crete at 17:30 local time, our tour of Crete begins with the vehicle waiting for us at the airport. Its historical texture dates back to the Venetian period, and many Venetian and Ottoman architectural works can be seen in the city. One of the city’s most famous landmarks is the Venetian Rethymno Fortress. The fortress is located right next to the city center by the sea and is a popular spot for both history enthusiasts and photography lovers. Rethymno’s narrow cobblestone streets, traditional houses, and inns in the old town create a historic atmosphere. Rethymno is also famous for its beautiful beaches. After the tour, we head to Archanes village, which is close to Knossos and famous for its traditional stone houses, narrow streets, and olive groves.
