- DAY BARCELONA & GIRONA & FIGUERAS (DALI MUSEUM)
After breakfast at the hotel, guests can participate in the optional Girona & Figueras (Dali Museum) Tour for an additional (70 Euro). Our tour begins in Girona, a pearl of North Catalonia, located where the Onyar, Galligants, and Güell rivers converge. The region is historically rich with artifacts from numerous invasions and rulers since the Iberians. All structures are built from stone and have been well-preserved to reflect the spirit of the past. Its museums, churches, cobblestone narrow streets, and medieval walls make it a favorite among tourists. The Lion Statue, Cathedral Square, and the Jewish Quarter will be among the sights. After our tour, we head to Figueras City, which is important because surrealist artist Salvador Dali was born here in 1904. Dali established a museum here to leave a mark and showcase his works. This museum is known for having the largest Dali collection and is regarded as his greatest work due to the details he designed throughout. It houses over 4000 works that Dali created using different techniques. On the return to Barcelona, guests can also join the optional Barcelona Marvels: Park Güell, Gothic Quarter, and El Born Tour for an additional (60 Euro). In this tour, we will visit the UNESCO protected Park Güell, Antoni Gaudi’s masterpiece, under the guidance of our guide. We will see the pathways inspired by nature, the house he built for himself, and the viewing terrace surrounded by houses that look like they're made of candy, offering arguably the most beautiful view in Barcelona and the famous mosaic lizard. After enjoying the time at Güell, we will visit the Gothic Quarter, followed by a trip down La Rambla Street to see La Boqueria (market) from the 19th century, and then venture into the side streets to see the magnificent remains of Roman Barcelona, including the Augustus Temple, the Jewish Quarter, the Barcelona Barons’ Palace, the Archives of Aragon Royal House, the Barcelona Gothic Cathedral, the Bishops’ Bridge, and Sant Jaume Square. After that, we will proceed to El Born Quarter, where we will see the Catalan Cultural Center, which holds historical significance for Catalan history and the streets where the 18th Century Catalan uprisings occurred, along with the famous “people's cathedral,” the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Mar. At the end of our tour, we will have free time to relax in the bohemian lifestyle center Passeig del Born, full of famous cafes and bars, and taste the delicacies of Catalan cuisine. Located on the Sabika hill overlooking Granada, this famous site, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, began construction in the 13th century as a fortress and palace, and its construction lasted until the 15th century. Although this important structure in Spain may appear rough from the outside, it has been crafted by the most skillful masters of the era, resulting in delicately woven walls. Due to the red soil used in the palace, it is referred to as Alhambra, meaning "Red Palace." After our palace tour, guests who wish may join the extra organized Sacromonte Gypsy Neighborhood and Albaicin tour for an additional (45 Euro). In the former Muslim neighborhood of Albaicin, which is part of Spain's cultural heritage and under protection, we will stroll and watch a gypsy show with a drink in hand in completely handcrafted cave houses.
