After breakfast at our hotel, guests who wish may join the Tokyo City Tour organized by our guide as an extra. Our first stop will be Meiji Shrine, one of Japan's most visited temples. We reach this shrine, dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his wife Shōken, who are highly respected as the founders of modern Japan, by walking along the sacred path through the great Yoyogi Park. On this visit, you may also make wishes just like the Japanese. Our next stop will be Takeshita Street, one of Tokyo's most striking and lively streets. This street, colored especially by Japanese youth with their different styles and clothing, is also under the eye of the fashion world. Don't forget to take photos of your own reflection from the live screens at the entrance of the street. Walking from this lively street, we pass to the famous Omotesando shopping street and board our bus. Next is our visit to the world-famous Shibuya pedestrian crossing and the statue of the loyal dog Hachiko. While crossing the pedestrian crossing, we record our videos and take a souvenir photo with Hachiko. After traveling for a while by bus, we go to another attraction corner of Tokyo, Asakusa. The Asakusa district is one of Tokyo's oldest settlements. After visiting Sensōji Temple, one of the must-see highlights of Tokyo tours, you can discover street flavors and buy a few gifts during the short free time we will have on the historic Nakamise shopping street in front of it. Again by bus, we go to the outer garden of the Imperial Palace, truly the heart of Tokyo. After taking photos in front of Nijūbashi (nickname: Eyeglasses Bridge), which is sure to appear in Tokyo brochures, we head to our final stop, the Ginza shopping district.

Day 6 – Toba | Toba City Tour & Ise-Jingu Temple Complex

After breakfast on the ship, guests who wish may join the Toba Tour organized as an extra by our guide. We begin our tour in the town of Ise, known for centuries as the "Holy City" because of the Ise-Jingu Temple Complex. Here you will travel back in time. Designated as a National Treasure by the Japanese government, the sacred area with more than 125 temples is surrounded by Japanese cedar trees and centered around the main shrines of Naiku (Inner Shrine) and Geku (Outer Shrine). The main building of each shrine is a simple thatched hut made of unpainted cedar, constructed from joined wood in the old Japanese style. At the heart of the complex is the well-preserved Okage Yokocho, a three-acre street with a beautiful architectural array. Built to resemble a town from the Edo and Meiji periods, the street is lined with houses, shops, and restaurants, along with many businesses that have served pilgrims and tourists for several centuries. We then return to Toba and, after touring the city's important areas, we transfer to our ship.

Day 7 – Kochi | Kochi Castle & Kochi City Tour

After breakfast on the ship, guests who wish may join the Kochi Castle & Kochi City Tour organized as an extra by our guide. Discover how Kochi became a center of pro-imperial ideology at the end of the feudal era while touring the city's two most respected symbols. From the pier we head to Kochi Castle. Built more than 400 years ago by feudal lord Yamanouchi Kazutoyo, the "donjon" or main tower is worth the climb to the top, offering famous panoramic views of the entire city. Your tour will take you through the beautifully restored Tsumemon Gate, which connects the castle's second citadel to its inner sanctuary, and no visit is complete without seeing the living quarters or "honmaru," home to local and historical treasures. After a walk through the castle grounds, you will board your bus and head to the beautiful Katsurahama Beach. There stands the statue of Sakamoto Ryoma, one of Japan's most beloved historical figures, who is recognized for transforming feudal Japan into a modernized, unified nation. At the end of our tour, we return to our ship.

Day 8 – Miyazaki (Aburatsu) | Miyazaki City Tour

After breakfast on the ship, guests who wish may join the Miyazaki City Tour organized as an extra by our guide. We begin our tour by visiting Aoshima Shrine, the symbol of the love between Yamasachihiko and Toyotama-hime, one of the love legends. Then, among the places we will visit are Sun Messe Nichinan, which contains 15 Moai statues officially licensed for Easter Island, and Florante Miyazaki Garden, which houses tens of thousands of flowers. After free time in the city center, we return to our ship.

Day 9 – Nagasaki | Nagasaki City Tour

After breakfast on the ship, guests who wish may join the Nagasaki City Tour organized as an extra by our guide. We begin our tour by going to Peace Memorial Park. Here we will witness the unique view of Megami Ohashi Bridge, the city, and the Mistubishi shipyard. Peace Memorial Park is located near Ground Zero of the August 9, 1945 explosion. The Atomic Bomb Museum records the events leading up to the bombing and the event itself. Walk to the Atomic Bomb Hypocenter, a black monolith marking Ground Zero. We will visit the rebuilt Urakami Cathedral and the one-legged Torii gate. From here we will continue to Dejima Island and visit the Dejima Museum, which tells how the unique Japanese-Dutch trade system operated for two centuries. We will walk to Glover Garden in the Foreign Settlement Area, where there are seven historic buildings and the first wooden Western-style house in Japan.

Special Notes: This tour contains sensitive material, such as graphic images and depictions of the atrocities of war. About 50 steps must be climbed from the museum to the center. Glover Garden is located at the top of a hill; passengers must walk uphill, climb steep steps, and travel over uneven surfaces. Glover Garden may be partially under construction and covered. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes with low heels.

Day 10 – Busan | Busan City Tour

After breakfast on the ship, we begin our Busan city tour. Busan is South Korea's second-largest city and an important port city. By the 1st century AD, it had become a port city ruled by four small states. In this city, which has witnessed temples, royal tombs, the Japanese occupation, and the Korean War, we will first visit Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, one of the few coastal Buddhist temples in South Korea. Then we will see Haeundae Dalmaji-gil Road, Haeundae Beach, Dongbaekseom Island, and the Mermaid statue, which represents the legendary heartbreaking love story of the princess of the Naranda country, all famous for their views of the blue ocean, white sandy beach, camellia forest, and pine forest. After that, we will visit the UN Memorial Cemetery, where UN soldiers from 16 countries who lost their lives in the Korean War between 1950 and 1953 lie, as well as the two Turkish memorial graves and monument inside it. Day 12 – Osaka | Nijo Castle & Heian Shrine

After breakfast on the ship, guests who wish may join the Nijo Castle & Heian Shrine tour organized as an extra by our guide. We begin the Nijo Castle and Kyoto City Tour. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Nijo Castle is the best surviving example of castle architecture from Japan's feudal period in the 17th century. The elaborate interiors, constructed almost entirely of cedar, are decorated with gold leaf and carefully crafted wood carvings. For the protection of the shogun, the builders of Nijo Castle constructed floors known as "nightingales"; if an intruder entered the corridors, the floors squeaked like birds. Some of the rooms in the castle also have special doors and hidden rooms where guards could hide. We then set off toward Heian, also known as the Shrine of Peace, which is regarded as one of the most important and visually striking Shinto shrines in Kyoto. The 82-foot-high torii gate, dedicated to the spirits of the first and last emperors to rule from the city, was built in 1895 to commemorate Kyoto's founding in 795. Although photos and videos are not allowed inside Nijo Castle (Ninomaru Palace) and Heian Shrine (Shinto Shrine) during our tour, your external visit to the Golden Pavilion provides many shots worth photographing. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and National Special Historic Site, the Pavilion is one of the most popular attractions in Japan. At the end of our tour, we return to our ship.
