After a pleasant vaporetto ride, we disembark near St. Mark’s Square, the historic center of the city, and begin our tour through the canals. In this city, which is free of motor vehicles, all the vehicles we are accustomed to seeing in daily life such as police cars, ambulances, garbage trucks, and municipal buses are replaced by boats.
