1. Day Ankara – Barcelona Meeting 3 hours before the flight in front of the AJet Airlines counter at the international departures terminal of Ankara Esenboğa Airport. After baggage, ticket, and passport procedures, we depart for Barcelona on AJet Airlines flight VF607 at 09:45. Upon arrival at 13:00 local time, our panoramic city tour begins with our vehicle waiting for us at the airport. Barcelona is a world-renowned city as Spain’s second-largest city and the vibrant, captivating capital of the Catalonia region. Bathed by the warm waters of the Mediterranean, this magnificent city offers a unique blend of history, art, culture, and entertainment. With its magnificent architecture, colorful streets, delicious cuisine, and lively nightlife, Barcelona attracts millions of visitors each year. The city is like an open-air museum decorated with the unique works of Antoni Gaudí. During our city tour, we will see Sagrada Familia Church, the Columbus Monument, La Rambla Street, Plaza de España and Catalunya Square, the Bullring, and the Olympic Port. After the tour, guests who wish may join the optional Splendid Poble Espanyol & Montjuïc Hill tour. (30 Euro) We begin our tour with Poble Espanyol, built for the 1929 World Fair and now a popular destination for visitors to Barcelona, consisting of 117 buildings, streets, and squares. Here we will see model structures from all regions of Spain, walk through streets reflecting the architecture of different Spanish regions, visit various craft workshops, and take a short journey through Spain. Poble Espanyol also hosts artisans working in ceramics, glass, leather, jewelry, and other crafts. Then we proceed to Montjuïc Hill, which offers much more than a panoramic view of Barcelona. This area, where history, culture, and nature merge, underwent a major transformation and hosted important events such as the 1992 Olympic Games. After the photo break, transfer to our hotel. Day Barcelona After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the optional Splendid Pearls of Northern Catalonia (Girona & Figueres & Dali Museum & Park Güell & Gothic Quarter) tour. (120 Euro) Our first stop is Girona. Located in the northeast of Catalonia, about 100 kilometers north of Barcelona, Girona is a historic city famous for its medieval narrow streets, historical buildings, museums, churches, and city walls. During our tour here, the Lion Sculpture, Cathedral Square, and the famous Jewish Quarter (El Call) will be among the places seen. After the tour, we head to Figueres. Figueres is a town located northeast of Girona and is known as the birthplace of Salvador Dalí. The city is closely associated with the life and works of the famous Spanish painter Salvador Dalí. The most important tourist attraction in Figueres is the Salvador Dalí Museum. Dalí established this museum here to leave something in the place where he was born and to exhibit his works. Today, it has the largest Dalí collection, and since every part was designed by Dalí himself, it is regarded as Dalí’s greatest work. The museum contains more than 4,000 works created by Dalí using different techniques. Afterwards, we head to Park Güell. One of Antoni Gaudí’s magnificent works, Park Güell is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This park, known as the “fairy-tale park,” creates a magical atmosphere with its colorful stairs and imaginative pavilions. After seeing this remarkable work by Gaudí, our final stop is the Gothic Quarter. In the Gothic Quarter, you can feel the enchanting atmosphere of the Middle Ages with its narrow, labyrinth-like streets, Gothic churches, romantic squares, and Roman walls. Among the most important structures in the district are Barcelona Cathedral, Plaça Reial (Royal Square), Plaça del Rei (King’s Square), and La Rambla. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel. 3. Day Barcelona – Valencia After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Valencia. Valencia is a historic and modern city on Spain’s eastern coast, surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. As Spain’s third-largest city, Valencia attracts visitors with its rich history, culture, and art. Upon arrival, our city tour includes the City Hall, Gothic Cathedral, Bullring, Museum of Arts and Sciences, the historic market Mercado Central, and the Old Silk Exchange. After the tour, transfer to our hotel, check-in, and free time. Overnight at the hotel. 4. Day Valencia – Granada After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Granada. Upon arrival in Granada, our city tour begins. Granada is a city full of history and culture located in the heart of the Andalusia region. Granada is famous for its historical heritage, music and dance, breathtaking views, and the Alhambra Palace. It is one of Spain’s leading tourist destinations and welcomes millions of visitors every year. During our city tour, we will see Gran Vía Street, Bib-Rambla and City Squares, Granada Cathedral (exterior), the Madraza, Granada’s first university, the Silk Bazaar, and the old Nasrid Caravanserai. After the tour, guests who wish may join the optional Splendid Alhambra Palace tour. (80 Euro) (Since there is a daily visitor limit at the Alhambra Palace, our visit may, depending on availability, also be carried out without the harem section. It is very important that you inform your agency about your participation in this tour at the time of booking.) The Alhambra Palace, one of Granada’s greatest treasures, is one of the most striking and impressive examples of Andalusian Islamic architecture. It is one of Spain’s most visited historical sites, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and has gained worldwide fame. This famous structure was begun in the 13th century on the plateau overlooking the Sabika Hill in Granada, as a fortress and palace, and construction continued until the 15th century. Due to the red color it takes from the red soil used in its construction, it was called Alhambra, meaning “the Red.” After the tour, transfer to our hotel. In the evening, guests who wish may join the optional Splendid Neighborhoods (Albaicín and Sacromonte Gypsy Quarter) tour. (60 Euro) Albaicín is a historic and captivating neighborhood of Granada. This area, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous for its narrow streets, whitewashed houses, and scenic hills. It bears traces of Andalusian Islamic culture and architecture and reflects Granada’s history. After the tour, we will watch a Gypsy show in fully handmade cave houses, accompanied by a drink, and observe their way of life. After the tour, return to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel. 5. Day Granada – Seville After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Seville. Upon arrival, our city tour begins. Seville is a city in Spain’s Andalusia region famous for its historical and cultural richness. Located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, during our city tour in Seville, we will first see Maria Luisa Park, including Plaza de España, and Plaza America, the Seville Cathedral (exterior), where the tomb of Christopher Columbus is also located, and next to the cathedral, the Giralda Minaret, which carries the memory of the Umayyad State of Andalusia and is the last remaining part of the mosque upon which the cathedral was built, and the Alcazar (exterior), the palace of the Castilian kings. Then, passing through the Archives of the Indies, where records of all sea voyages to the Americas were kept from the Age of Discovery until the 19th century, we will reach the narrow streets of the old Santa Cruz district, known as “Old Seville.” At the end of our walk, after seeing Torre del Oro, or the Golden Tower, which served as the central campus of Seville University, was formerly a tobacco factory, and is now a maritime museum, we transfer to our hotel. In the evening, guests who wish may join the optional Splendid Flamenco Fire Tour. (55 Euro) Seville is one of the birthplaces of flamenco and is considered one of the most important centers of flamenco culture in Spain. Day Seville – Cordoba – Mijas – Malaga – Seville After breakfast at the hotel, guests who wish may join the optional Splendid Cities (Cordoba & Mijas & Malaga) tour. (140 Euro) Cordoba is a historic city in Spain’s Andalusia region. It is famous for its historical and cultural richness, impressive architecture, and structures bearing the traces of Andalusian Islamic culture. After a 1.5-hour journey, we arrive in Cordoba, where the Guadalquivir River welcomes us first. Crossing the historic Roman bridge and passing through the Roman gate, we enter the city. The city’s most magnificent structure, one of the largest mosques in the world, is the Great Mosque of Cordoba, which rises on 850 columns. We enter and, with our guide, witness the splendor of this magnificent work and receive fascinating information. After our tour of the Cordoba Mosque, we continue on foot and see the immaculate old streets, the old inn reflecting all the elegance of Andalusian architecture, and Cordoba’s houses. After this tour, our second stop is Mijas, a charming and traditional mountain town in the Málaga province of Andalusia in southern Spain, especially famous for its whitewashed houses. Located close to the Costa del Sol coast, Mijas stands out for both its sea views and historical atmosphere. Mijas Pueblo, the historic part of the town, offers a postcard-like scene with its narrow streets, balconies decorated with flowers, and whitewashed houses in typical Andalusian architecture. Although the town’s origins go back to Ancient Rome and even the Phoenicians, its current texture was largely shaped during the Muslim Andalusian period. One of the most notable points in Mijas is the small bullring built on the hilltop and the remains of Mijas Castle. After the tour, our final stop is Malaga. In our tour of Malaga, the city where the famous painter Pablo Picasso was born, we will see Paseo de Parque (Park Street), Plaza de la Merced, the Jewish Quarter, Constitution Square, Larios Street, Puerto Marina (the Port), La Alcazaba, and Gibralfaro Castle. In this open-air museum city, during our tour we will see the historic narrow streets, Toledo Cathedral, Spain’s oldest cathedral (exterior), churches converted from Andalusian mosques, and many more wonders. After the tour, we head to Madrid. Upon arrival, our city tour begins. Madrid, the capital of Spain, is one of the country’s most visited cities with its deep-rooted history and cultural richness. During our city tour in Madrid, we will first see the Bullring (exterior), Alcalá Gate and Independence Square, Cibeles Monument, the famous Gran Vía, Bernabéu Stadium, Plaza Castilla, Atocha Train Station, the famous Prado Museum (exterior), Plaza de España with the statues of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, the Royal Palace (exterior), Plaza Mayor with its 9 gates, and Sol Square. After the tour, transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel. 8. Day Madrid – Ankara After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for the airport at the time determined by the guide.
